Friends, on this day, June 16th of 2008, I discovered that my Nintendo Wii console has died. Yes, my beloved and cherished Wii is dead. (that's NEVER a good thing to say in life.)

Yesterday there was a power outage, apparently, it had negative influences on the electrical current and decided to stab my Wii in its limited MB heart. I had found all of this but mere minutes ago to which brought great dismay and a silhouette of depression over the game geek that recoils inside of me.

... and with just six days before Rock Band released on the Wii, too. A bit much of irony and complete suckitude.

So Microsoft/Xbox claims the "Red Ring of Death" as its destroyer. I shall call my situation the "Wii Electrical Dysfunctions", or "WED" for short.

I'm burning down Nintendo and buying a different system.

awww i'm sorry Randy maybe the Lord just didnt want u to play the Wii anymore because something bad may have happened if u kept on playing it or something. but it's good but still it can seem unfair but the Lord is just protecting u and probably also teaching u something 2... Only the Lord Knows.

That's equally unacceptable. He might drown.

Can't go in the lawn, pitbulls might attack him. Can't ride his bike, might fall and break he neck.

In fact, the best, and "safest" way to go is to go inside into the inndermost darkened room and play Xbox 360, PS3, and/or PC games all night while chugging Monster energy drinks and hot wings all night until he slips into a coma. *twitch* *twitch*

Ya, but then he might fall on the way to the room and break something there. Or his Xbox 360 could explode! that would be a disaster. i thiink the safest thing would 2 stay in a giagantic bubble!!! haha that would look really funny tho. then he might die of embarassment. so either way he's doomed! (lol) sry!

That's not really a dysfunction in your Wii though. That is, it's not a design flaw like the 'red ring' is. If I understand the situation correctly, your system experienced a power surge. If you didn't have a surge protector hooked up (they cost like... $5) then it's a user error. (E.g. It's your fault.) It would have happened to any system you had hooked up. It would have happened to most any electronic you had hooked up, come to think of it. If you don't make an effort to protect your expensive electronics from surges, the blame's on you when it dies.
It does suck, but it's no reason to hate on Nintendo.

I wouldn't plug my electronics in unless it was on a power surge.

So no, it wasn't my fault because of the precautions I take.

Awww....I'm sorry your Wii died. My sister's boyfriend Kasey had his 360 catch the red ring of death too. I thought that the Chuck Norris jokes only were in World of Warcraft *Sighs* Now I have to listen to them here too. *sighs again* anyway my bff's brother has a wii. he played Legend of Zelda twilight princess on it. I have that game on gamecube I LOVE Legend of Zelda well no that much seeing as I can't beat it. It's impossible to beat for me. My brother beat it a while ago....
God Bless and I hope that you get another wii for free.

Wii's are AMAZING. A lot of my friends are all guys. And my friend, Chris, was talking smack about how he's going to beat me. So we did this whole Tennis match with a Wii, and who won? That's right, I did. I love playing the Wii. I want to learn to play Halo. The first time I played, I was alright I guess.
