Whether or not we accept and enjoy the peace God has given us, is up to us. Life is hard, it often becomes easy to give into all of the negative things around us. Whether it is the negative attitudes, behaviors, and ideas of others, or simply our own negative thinking, we have to choose whether or not we will give into it all.

Delight in the day, "Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8)

Starting today, accept the peace God has given you and delight in the day! How was your day today? How is it going to be? What will you choose?

Thanks for stopping by!

Things in life are going kinda' the same and kinda' better. I think it helps to have a different out look or perspective on it all. I can say that today, because things are running pretty smooth, yet when a bump in the road comes it shakes me up a little. However I am trying to keep my focus adjusted on the eternal and not the temporal, and it helps, when I remember

My job is still great and the kids are doing well, yet they are both struggling a little in school, Sarah more than RJ. I am a little worried about that, but working on it. Our family dynamics are still a little outta whack and out of the ordinary but God is still in control, as long as I am not trying to fight HIM for it. Overall things are good!

I was in a play last night for our AWANA Cubbie Parent night, and I didn't even get sick! I remembered my line and everything HA!

I am counting down the days until I get to go to California in July, I just can't wait I am so excited! The kids and I are taking a train out there and staying for two weeks and then flying back! How cool is that?!?

The rest of us are all getting older. Why are you getting younger?

Ha funny, I 'm not getting any younger, in fact I found some gray hair the other day...sigh, now what do I do? Grow old gracefully or find some.... what do you call it? Nice N Easy or some kind of hair stuff? With my luck I'd make my hair orange or something like that, I did that once years ago, it wasn't pretty LOL!

Things I am learning this week...

Romans 8:38,39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, not life, no angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

No matter what comes into my life, what ever trials or struggles, or differences between people in my life, I will never be far from God's hand. Keeping this verse in mind today and everyday will help me to remember to stay close to HIM so that I can feel his presence and be blessed with his promises.

In the Sunday School bulletin this week there were a few statements that really spoke to my heart.

" People tend to focus on what is wrong with the world rather than what's right, and that trickles over into our relationships. Instead of being like diamond miners who sift through the dirt looking for one gem, we sift through all the diamonds looking for a little dirt."

What an illustration to keep in mind when thinking of my husband and any ohter difficult person in my life.

" In order to love people and to be loved by them, one must train oneself to gentleness, humility, the art of bearing with disagreeable people and things."

"There is no remedy for love but to love more"

Thank you for posting this DeeDee. It is timely.

Hey DeeDee!! I was reading through my thread this week (yeah, that one that is nearly dead cuz I've neglected writing in it), and I am slowly trying to make my way around contacting all the ppl who once posted in there . . . it was such a great time of fellowship in that thread and I miss it! I've decided that whether I write any more in it or not, I need to renew that fellowship with y'all, so here I am

I like your new thread, btw, and the verses you chose. They speak volumes, don't they? And this
quote:

" In order to love people and to be loved by them, one must train oneself to gentleness, humility, the art of bearing with disagreeable people and things."

"There is no remedy for love but to love more"
is being copied & pasted into a folder for me to use in the bulletin at my church -- what insightful statements! Thank you

You know, since we haven't had a lot of contact in the last year or so, I've got to say that the change in you from when you used to post in my thread a lot, and what I'm now reading in your thread is tremendous! God has really been working in your heart, DeeDee, and it shows! . . . it's really cool to see the work He's doing in someone's life -- especially when outward circumstances haven't changed, and yet there has been such big changes -- inwardly, from down deep in the heart where it really counts.

God bless you . .

Wow it is so cool to see all of you here! I missed everyone so much!

yeah Leah God is doing a mighty work in my heart and as long as I am choosing to follow his lead, I am doing well, yet it is easy for me to slip. Praise the Lord for his protection when I do fall!

Of course Denny!!!

I have been focusing so much on my physical life, even though I write about things eternal and think on the spiritual, I can't get past this physical body. Yet I know and need to focus on the fact that we are more than just physical creatures. It isn't about our looks, but how we take care of our bodies, our health, our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual condition. Our bodies were created by and for a divine creator.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's
( 1Corinthians 6:19,20)

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy, for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
(1 Corinthians 5:17)

We are limited in this body we have, because sin entered the world we are cursed to have a body that will eventually die. We have become a society that overindulges in everything, from our resources, to food, alcohol, drugs, and even time. All of this overindulgences make us feel horrible later, yet it is our way of life and we are just headed down a path that leads to death. What are we doing with the things given to us?

In a devotional I read this morning, it asks the question, "does making a space for God mean a healthy diet, exercise and good mental health?" I believe it does include those things, not because it makes us feel and look better, but because our body is the temple of God. Looking better and feeling better are just a side affect. Seeing our (my) bodies as more than just a physical being, may enable us (me) to reach my goal in life to be healthier, manage my time better, and most of all have a healthy relationship with God. Worship and wellness need to grow into new habit of our life, they go hand in hand.
