Nope. In fact, I get gas more often now so that I can get it when it's cheaper. Get it today or else tomorrow it'll be 5 cents more.

I always wait until it's almost empty to put more gas in it, and when I do, I fill it up.

Or well, I used to fill it up, but now I can only put about $20 in it at one time, so it only gets about half full.

if I fill it when it's at half, it costs me $35 twice a week. If I fill it when it's almost empty, it's $48-$54 a week.

Soooo...I do it once a week.

I'd like to say "Don't run you tank near empty if you can ever help it!" The fuel pump is in the tank and it is submerged in the gasoline. As an electrical component it tends to want to get hot. The liquid keeps it cool, making it last longer. If you run on empty too much you'll burn out the pump causing a costly repair to the fuel pump.

I was thinking the same thing Ben. If you can only afford $20-$30 at a time, then get gas when you still have 3/4 left instead of only filling up to a 1/4 tank.

Yup, I remember hearing not that long ago that your car doesn't burn gas as efficiently once you are past the halfway mark (towards empty).

I fill up once a week on the cheap day regardless of whether I really need it or not. It goes up 12c/litre the next day and then slowly creeps down again, but by then I'll have run out of petrol and will end up having to pay more. Costs me about $55/week.

No, I fill up when it gets to half a tank.

That's why I get to around 1/4 of a tank and fill up.

It's easier these days since I traded my SUV for a Kia.
