Normally I don't like to dwell on the super sordid, but I'm wondering if anyone here have been keeping up with one of the most disturbing crimes in recent world history--especially Austrian history, given that it's still 2 years ago, a similar incident occurred with a young woman--except she's not blood related to her captor...

THAT'S HORRIBLE. Those poor children imprisoned for their whole lives for committing no crime. How on earth did she deliver the babies? I find it hard to believe the mom(the wife of the evil man) had no suspicions whatsoever that SOMETHING was going on. Weird. I just pray that that mom(the evil man's daughter) and her children/half siblings come to Christ and get a better life. I wonder if the kids should be put in foster care. It's kind of weird when your half sister is your mom.

Tell me about. Already I'm getting an earful from the Austrian press/ op-eds, questioning of course, how and why such a crime can take place, not to mention the sociological tangent about how complicit Austrian culture is to hiding/looking away at such deplorable secrets, i.e. child-welfare authorities supposedly had closely monitored The Fritzls, not knowing of such things. This Josef Fritzl guy seems to have personal issues going as far back as his high school years. No wonder why he's (Fritzl) been coined by The Week magazine as, "The monster next door!" Very fitting for someone who's been testified by former neighbors as scheming tyrant...

How did this man's wife NOT know what was going on? I think after a few years I'd get suspicious about my husband hanging out in the basement! So much evil around us!!
