I hope I'm not wrong, but if I am somoene please feel free to tell me. A while back on TBN, it was early on a Sunday morning when I atleast thought I saw a preacher, preaching on a certain bible verse, that for the life of me I can't find it anywhere. I wanna do some research and study on the verse but I can't find it anywhere in the bible. I can't remember who it was preaching, or the verse but in th preacher's words, it basically said, If you go the extra mile for someone, they should go the extra mile for you, but you should that extra mile with thim. Has my mind played tricks on me and lead me to believe something that is not in the bible, or is there really a verse that says something similar to that? Which verse is it if I may ask?

Matthew 5:41
If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

Back in those times, Roman guards could force anyone they chose to carry their packs for one mile at a time. The verse is saying to offer them the second.

Yep, I agree with Ben. I cannot think of a single verse that states anything about reciprocation (if you go one mile, the other should go a mile for you). That's an entitlement mentality, which is in contradiction to Jesus' selfless, sacrificial teaching.

In the perspective of the preacher, it was probably
leading up to send him the money as a second mile ploy. lol.
Nearly all TBN preachers are manipulating you out of your money.

May I suggest that you not watch TBN; especially early in the mornging.

Watch that heresy on a regular basis and it will take a bevy of God fearing apologetics a very long time to straighten out your precieved doctrine to equate the simplistic Truth of the Word of God.

Thanks
RC

Thanks all! It is appreciated. I don't make it a habit of watching TBN much, and I sure won't watch it early in the morning, lol.
