Do you wear sunscreen? Do you use it everyday or just when you're at the beach? What SPF sunscreen do you use?

I know I should probably use it every day, but I don't like the way it feels on my skin. So I use it when I know I'm going to be out in the sun for awhile. I use SPF 50 because I'm very fair-skinned and burn easily. I had one of those things done where they put your face under a special light so you can see the sun damage under the skin, and I had hardly any damage. I've never been a sun worshiper.

I use a moisturizer with sunscreen SPF 15 on my face every day. For the rest of my body, I only use it if I'm going to be outside for hours. I use SPF 30 or more for those times.

I have to use it everyday (melanoma.)

I use Neutrogena Age Shield Face 70 SPF and Ultra Sheer 85 SPF.

Real Simple magazine has a great article about sunscreens in their June issue (starts on pg 90)

I use an SPF 15 moisturizer cream (keri - but they don't make it any more) most days, on any upper-body parts that are out of my clothing. I also put that on my 3yo dd... it's a part of our morning hygiene.

When we are going to be spending much time outdoors (more than 1/2 hour) I top it up with an SPF 45 'baby' sunscreen (aveeno) on all of our faces, 3yo's upper body and all of baby's exposed skin.

I use it whenever it is very hot out, since I have fair skin and burn so easily.

I put SPF 45 on my daughter whenever she is outside.

For myself I use SPF 30 on my face during the summer, and I know I need to start using it in the winter as well. If I'm going to be outside for a long period of time then I use SPF 30 on my body as well. I need to get better about that.

Sunscreen is my moisturizer. I like the feel of Ocean Potion so when it goes on sale in the springtime, I stock up. I might use a generic on the rest of my body. The face gets sunscreened every morning. The rest of the body, only as needed.

I use a moisturizer with sunscreen on my face every morning, and DD gets a physical sunscreen anytime we are going out if it's after 9am. We all use Blue Lizard Baby if we're at the pool.

I put SPF 50 on the kids if we're going to be outdoors all day (at the zoo, camping, swimming, etc.). I rarely put sunscreen on myself.

I have sunscreen in my moisturizer that I use every day on my face. I rarely use any for when I'm outside during the day. When I'm at the pool, beach or lake, I'll put on 15 or so.

My dd uses 24 I think during the above times, but not when she's just out playing.

Dh uses 50 and gets burned just about every time he's out.

I'm looking for a nice smelling sunscreen. Since I need to wear it everyday, but don't want to smell like your typical one all day. That is fine for the beach or the park, but not when I'm going out with people.

Any suggestions?

I only use it when I know I'll need it - and then, I have a parasol I made that really does the trick.

Ya gotta COVER yourself (rule of thumb is one shot glass full), to get any use from it. Cover well, and repeat often.

I just wrote an article on "natural" sunscreen, and how to make your own sunscreen. You probably already know about parabens and pthalates.

Before your next sunscreen purchase, here's some reading:

At least 49% of products on the market bear claims that are considered "unacceptable" or misleading under FDA's draft sunscreen safety standards.

potential dangers of some ingredients

That is a really neat site, you can look up whatever product you want, to find out what all the ingredients really are.
~

...there are several common ingredients in sunscreen that threaten the coral fish need to live, according to a recent study published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives.

Make sure your's protects from UVA and UVB
