(Mat 7:20) Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Thanks

It is the object of ones faith that is either true or presumptuous. As a Christian, my faith is in Jesus Christ...and He has proven Himself over and over again to always be true.

Peace

Are you asking about 'my' faith, 'your' faith, or 'faith' in general?

How do we know anything is true? : )

There are any number of tests one can use to validate a belief. Some people hold to the simplest of these ("if I hear about it, it's true!", for instance), and some do not hold to any of them ("there is no truth," perhaps). Personally, I tend to be a bit more pragmatic in some areas - I base something on the results it produces. Part of how I lost my "faith" in the 2-part government system here in America, but that's another thread. ; ) But one thing that has been confirmed, time and again, is the genuine nature of my faith in Christ.

To presume is to dare or venture. It can be seen as overconfidence or bold.

I see faith as being both true and presumptuous.

If we were to dive off a dangerous cliff on the strength that we believed God would protect us from the dangerous rocks below - that would be presumptuous (and stupid) !!

However, if we believe that God will deliver us from evil during our daily lives - this is true faith based on God's Word.

What is the difference between the 2 examples above? We should never foolishly put ourselves in positions where we 'test' God; whereas, God will keep us as we go about our day-to-day living when we are keeping His Word.
