Ok, I just turned on my tv and Oprah has a repeat with the authors of some very popular books and they're discussing forgiveness. This got me thinking whether or not the unGodly can truely forgive?

I'm not saying that it is impossible, but knowing how hard it can be for me to forgive, and I have the experience and example of God's forgiveness, I don't know how well they could. It would have been interesting to have heard how those authors defined forgiveness. Tim

If forgivenesss means to not hold someone accountable for a wrong committed, then I suppose that they can. Thanks RC

Yes they can. "UnGodly" people (tricky word, trying to use it in the way I think the OP intended it) can be amazingly good people.

John, please explain that verse because I don't see how it fits. Thanks. Abrax, anyone without God is unGodly. What did you mean by your post? God calls no one good.

I'm not God, and I don't have a strong opinion on how he views humans, if he views us at all--for me there are a lot of people I consider good. Even great. Terms like that have a usage in our language, and when I say, "My neighbors are really good people," or something along those lines, I think people have a rough idea what I mean by that.

i think it really depends on the person's personality.... some people just cant help but hold grudges while others are naturally forgiving good people whether they are "godly people" or not.
