I was laid off my job 7/12. On 7/18 at my union hall I was offered a formen's position . BA said "Larry you want to run some welders in South San Jose?" Well I'm broke and Ive been doing that type of work for 30 years. Its just not in a leadership position. I said "Well Yes" He said "You got to sound confident" I said "YES" So tomorrow I start . Please pray for me I'm nervous. I've never met my Boss or don't know what kind of a job site it will be. But I do know when Joshua was commanded to be strong and have good courage, not to be afraid nor be dismayed for the Lord my God is with me wherever I go. Last week I had an act of obedience with the Lord on some thing he was prompting me for a couple of months, perhaps this is a reward.

So basically you know the job, you are simply worried about the management end of it.

Think back about your best and worst bosses/foremen. Ask yourself what qualities made one good the other not good. Write them down. Then look at yourself and think about your personality and how you handle things. Compare that with these lists. If you see an area where you are weak work on thinking of better ways to handle the same situation. Just as you had to train your body in the processes to weld properly, train your mind in the ways that will make you most like the good bosses you've had.

You have the same issue that I have- I am always worried when I enter a new situation, and that I won't do a good job.

That feeling is totally normal. I just prayed that Jesus would help me bear the burden, and things turned out OK. I'll be praying for you tomorrow; I think that after a few weeks, you'll start to feel much more comfortable.
