Less than two years. I waited for him to ask me to marry him, that's when I knew. I'd already liked him very much but had no idea when I'd get married. He asked me when he was 17 and I was 18. Geez, we were REALLY young!

I think this is really hard for people to believe, but the minute I saw Jim walking toward me (he was a blind date), I knew he was the man God had chosen for me. I was head over heels, in love, within mintes. We were engaged two weeks later. We were married 5 months and three weeks later and have been happily married 38 years this coming fall. I was 19 and Jim was 23.

We kind of grew up together, so we knew each other for about 9 years before we knew there was more there than just friendship. Once we started talking about the possibility of a future together, it wasn't even a month before we knew it was right.

I didn't know my wife was the one for me. I was coming from a broken relationship (6 mo. later) and was still healing from a lot of hurt when we started dating. She was everything I wanted in a wife, but the feelings were not quite like my "first love." So, after all that "I love you but not in love with you" stuff I was dishing out, I got to the point where I made the decision - I will choose to be in love with her (She had already chosen me). That was the best decision I have ever made. Only been married 11 years, but our marriage is awesome!

It took about a year for me. I certainly enjoyed his friendship and I was attracted to him physically. He was dealing with some grief issues and was struggling in his faith. So my first impression was that he was such a sweet guy and a really great friend and brother in Christ but it took a good year for the "sparks" . He told me he was interested right away but didn't want to give his heart until he could love my with all of his heart, like I deserved. Well we have been married almost 17 years, we're still learning how to love eachother with our whole hearts. One lessen I never tire of learning. Kim Q

Three months. That's when we decided we were going to get married. Officially engaged at 6 months, and married at just less than a year.

15 years. Mary and I met when she began attending Youth Group at my church. She was in HS and I had left college and was working for a living. We were friends from about 1982 until 1988 when we began dating. A year-and-a-half later, she broke up with me and began dating my best friend. They broke up after about 11 months. She began attending beauty school and met a nominal Christian (barely practicing Catholic, to be exact). They got engaged (twice), then she finally broke it off with him. We were apart from October of 1989 until February of 1996 when God put us back together. I knew it was inevitable two months later, so I asked her to marry me. She said, "Yes." We told my mother in June of '96 and she gave us her blessing 2 months later by giving me the heirloom diamonds from her engagement & wedding rings to be remounted. On June 28, 1997, she became my wife and I've never regretted it at all. Duane

It was close to 10 years for DH and me, but you see, I was in Jr. High and DH wa in college. (Yes, there is an 8 year difference). I met DH when he played on my brother's college baseball team. His family lived relatively near us so he maintained contact with our family. Finally, when I was in college, he finally asked me out, and I think we both knew on the first date at that point. We dated for nine months and were engaged for seven. I needed to finish college.

About 3 weeks after we started dating, I went on a trip 8 hours away. I was driving home late at night, so he called me to keep me company. We talked the entire trip home, and about 2 hours into the conversation, I knew. He said something about knowing that I love classic corvettes and how it would be so cool if one day he could surprise me with a phone call asking me to come over and have a corvette sitting in the driveway for us to refinish together (which has always been my dream, but not one I had shared yet). I had been fairly certain before, since the way we met and everything could only have been orchestrated by God, but hearing him not only describing my dreams and sharing my dreams, but thinking the coolest thing he could do would be to make my dreams come true, that melted my heart and at that point I was sure I was talking to the man of my dreams. He figured it out a few weeks later, we started talking marriage, had the wedding planned, then got engaged (we like doing things out of the ordinary ), and were married 6 months after we met. I can't remember life before I knew him, and don't want to even imagine life without him. He truly is an amazing man of God, and I'm beyond blessed to have him in my life.

I met my husband in 1994. We were friends throughout high school. He joined the Navy after one year of college and we lost touch. One day we saw each other and the feelings that we have always had for one other but could never express, were still there. After one date, I knew he was the one. Two weeks later we were engaged.

It took me a long time to figure it out, but it took him like three dates. He went to his pastor and asked when it was God's will for a guy to ask a gal to marry him. The pastor told him to wait three months at least, so he waited three months and a day. I was totally blindsided as I'd met wonderful guys before but none had ever proposed. It took me maybe 2 seconds to think out that this was a man of godly character, kind heart, was funny as all get out and we got along great. Yes! We married 11 months after we met, and just celebrated 20 years. He is still my best friend, and I respect him greatly. We've had our hard times but God has seen us through them. The humor and steadfastness really helped. To God be the glory!

I've been dating my girl for a year and a half now (I am 22 she is 19). I had been in several relationships before, she had been in a few, but this is the first time either of us has ever truely been in love. We knew eachother for about 6 months before we started dating, and knew we would spend our lives together less than 3 months after we started dating. Our wedding is July 4, 2009. :)

When my friend introduced me to my husband. I looked up from the book I was reading, said hello, and looked down and continued reading. He went home that day and told his mother that he had met the woman he was going to marry. She told the whole story at my wedding. I did not see him again for 6 months. My friend and I set up a day trip to see the snow. I had invited a friend and she invited my future husband. At the last minute my friend could not come. The three of us went anyway. The trip was just okay, but on the way home my friend was car sick so she slept in the back the whole trip home. He and I talked for 3 hours straight. We were married 8 months later. We were married for almost 20 years. I have been widowed for almost a year.

We were just friends for the first year we knew each other, but I had a crush on him from the very first day we met. After we started courting, it was less than a month before I knew this was the man God chose for me. Before we were dating two months, he had already bought my engagement and wedding rings. We've only been married for two years, but we've already had to deal with some pretty crazy life changing things together; and everything is going great! †Heather

We knew there was the possiblity of something long-term after 2-3weeks. We bought rings at about 3 months and were married at just under 6 months. We will celebrate 25 years of marriage in December of this year.
