3-6

I usually do white clothes, dark clothes and baby clothes one week, then towels and bed sheets the next week.

I do laundry once a week at my mom's house. It's cheaper and easier than using the laundry machines in our apartment, or going to the laundromat.

Mine are really full loads, though.

10 on an average week...once a month it is more cause we wash all the bedding then, not just the sheets (those are done once a week) and the rugs as needed, which adds two loads to it that week. Also if hubby has more of his work clothes then he does 3-5...I don't do his work stuff (cause it stinks after being in the motor pool, so he does it so I don't have to smell it ). So total for our house is about 15-18 on a regular good week where I have cleaned a lot...meaning all the bedding and rugs, etc.

3-6 or 6-10, depending on the week.

That doesn't sound like a lot for a family of 6, but our washer holds quite a bit, and we reuse towels 3x before they are washed. We also re-wear clothes that aren't dirty. Brian has uniforms for work that get laundered by the uniform company. It's probably between 5 and 8 loads a week, depending mostly on how much bedding I wash.

IF I'm NOT washing bedding that week it's about a load a day - maybe 2 on a good day, so about 5 or 6 a week. Now if bedding is part of the equation - it's more like 10.

Blessings,

Garsy

I am amazed at how little laundry everyone does. If I do an average of 3 loads a day, then I can usually keep up on all the dirty laundry. I remember my mom did all of our family's laundry on Saturdays - that's it. There's no way that would work for me.

How big is your family?

There's just the one (me) . . . I'd probably do even less loads than what I listed if I didn't sort my dirty clothes by colors.

Since it's just me, I usually get by w/ two loads a week...colors and whites. If it is a lighter week, I'll just throw 'em in together. I might do an extra load when I wash the sheets, but I only wash those every 3-4 months.

Just kidding about that last part. Did I getcha?

I actually don't do a lot of laundry for a family of three, but we do certain things to keep our laundry use down.

The towels I use on Dd after her bath, I use for my hair. I will also dry a towel I used on my hair, and use it again.

We have a lot of sheet sets and comforters, so I am able to change the bedding regularly without having to always be washing.

We also wear some clothing items a couple of times before we wash them. We each have enough undergarments and Dh has enough t-shirts to last two weeks.

Plus I will also do washing by hand if we need things.

When you don't have a laundry machine, you do what you can to keep your loads down.

This question brought back memories for me. Many years ago we had five children at home and we fostered babies. The laundry was unbelievable. We lived in the North West Territories for many years and I had a wringer washer, no drier. I probably did at lest four loads a day. Now there's just my husband and I at home and I have a lovely front load washer and dryer and maybe do three loads a week. How things change. Thanks for the memory trip.

I put 3-6, but that's just me! You didn't ask how many times does your washer get run a week? My son usually does 2-3 loads and my dd does 1-2 per week.

I do three loads of clothes, one of towels and one of daycare bedding. Every other week I do one of sheets. I usually do one load of linens for the church, but sometimes it's more.
