Hi Ladies!

Long time no talk...the internet has been too slow to post except when I'm out at the church.

I'm nervous. We have our house up for sale in Guadalajara and haven't had any lookers for months. After a big pep talk to our realtor, an appraisal, we still are not getting ANY movement.

My husband is pastoring a church an hour away and last fall we moved over the church apartment for 4 horrible months. I became terribly depressed and moved back to our home in Guadalajara. About 2 months ago my husband joined me full-time. Now, at least twice a week we sleep in the apartment while still living in our home.

Well, my husband doesn't like commuting or living in our home and often would bring up moving back to the US. So, I asked him what he wanted to do? I'm submitting myself to his leadership. He said he wanted to really give it a go. He'd promise 6 months and he wanted to move out of our house and rent a place near the church. Maybe the 6 months will pass and all will be well and we move on.

Now, we've found an inexpensive house near the church that I like, but I'm really nervous. What happens if I move out and want to go home again? If only our house would sell and bring closure for me.

There's too many ifs. What if the house doesn't sell? What if he wants to move back to the US in 6 months? What if we stay and I could have lived in my house a little longer? Why can't I live in my house till it sells?

I know how you feel. We own our farm back home, we own an apartment in Lebanon and we're renting in Kuwait. We should probably sell the farm but it's home (even though the twins barely remember it except for our visit last summer) and we don't want to stay over here but another year or two.

Give it a go. Pray like crazy. And try not to think too much about the old house. Throw yourself into decorating the rental and trying to make it home for you.

BTW, a friend of mine over here lived in an apartment when she first got married. She loved it. After they bought their gorgeous, huge house, she would drive over to the old apartment, sit in her car in the parking lot, and cry. LOL As long as you don't start doing that.

Even though only 2 ladies could relate and understand what I'm going through, it means so much that you do!

Thank you!

We're going to rent a casita and my 2 cultures come together with such different ideas about it. My world is so mind boggling if I think about it too much. I told my English ladies that we rented a little 2 bedroom casita and for good reason. It's a much smaller house than I live in now. But when I walked over with a Mexican girlfriend today she exclaimed how, "ENORME!" the house is...jeje! My Mexican ladies accept me as one of them and don't want me to pay gringo prices and so lead me to the best deals possible, bless their hearts. My head can spin living in the world with such a variety of interraction with the rich, middle class and the poor. I try to have a mixture in my home so that every class feels comfortable with us.

Girls, we move in 6 days and it's exciting and an emotional time for me. My husband said that if after 6 months I want to move back home that he'll move back to the US first. So, I keep thinking about decorating the rental and not about how much I love my home. Please God, sell my home so I can have closure. I have a lot of pictures and when I look at them I'm always overwhelmed that I live here.

Thank you Jennifer. I'm excited and sad. Last night I called my mom in California but she's still really wrapped up in her life and it leaves me feeling like I don't have anyone to talk to. I'm pretty much a stay at home mom/missionary/pastor's wife. I just can't thank you two girls enough for writing to me. I'm literally hanging on what you said. Trying so hard not to think about my house and focus on the rental.

Thank you for praying for me!
