I am a single parent/ FT college student/ worship leader and fractured my ankle afternoon. The Chamber singers and Handbell choir at my school had to go 1/2 hour away to do a service and as we were loading our handbells and other equipment I hit the top of a ramp going back to the instrument room wrong a twisted my ankle really bad. I proceeded to do all that was necessary for the evening in severe pain. Even after taking 3 ibuprophen I continued to have pain. Monday morning rolled around and I could barely put weight on my foot at all. I went to the Dr. and he thinks the fracture could be a new on but he is not sure but it is now Tuesday night almost 10PM and I am still in pain called the office three times today and they never called me back. I missed my college courses yesterday and today because of the pain please pray that I can get to class and concentrate since there are only two and a half weeks till finals. Pray also for my kids that they can put up with waiting on me hand and foot. LOL

But God is gracious.

His,
Angel

yes Lord, we agree for healing and for every good thing to be accomplished in her life and in the life of her family. When mom is sick, things can be difficult, A single mom is like mom and dad... so when mom and dad are sick, difficulty can become hardship. Father, we ask that you protect this family from being overwhelmed during this recovery. Let peace rule in their hearts and minds and home. Cause the children to be patient and full of compassion so that they reach out to minister to their mom and their family. Not more than is reasonable, but enough to develop character in them to minister to those that they love, especially in their own household. Raise up family and friends in their lives to also help them thru this difficult time.

Heal mom. Comfort her heart, ease any stress that may have built up thru all of this. Fill her heart with gladness and let her be a testimony and example to her children of strength and diligence and the power of God in our lives. What a precious family Lord. I don't know them, but there just seems to be an unusual sweetness about this bunch. Let your presence be felt by each and every one of them in ways they have never known. Carry these little ones in your arms and guide this mom as she raises them according to Isaiah 40:11. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Hello update on my ankle. It is definately fractured. I have been in pain majority of the week and have been calling the Dr. like crazy. I just looked at my original post above and noticed a typo this happened Sunday afternoon not Tuesday afternoon. The only day I had any relief from pain was Thursday and a little today. Today is Friday and finally got to talk to the doctor. He wants me to go see an orthopedic specialist. He is afraid that my ankle would swell to much and do more damage than good. I just hope that what ever they do helps before next weekend because the college I attend is having a huge worship event that I am a part of on stage singing with the Worship Choir and maybe even Keith and Krystin Getty for the glory of God, our Eternal Father. The Getty's wrote the popular song "In Christ Alone". Also the close of the semester is quickly approaching are so are my children's 12th birthdays. In other words the next two / three weeks are very busy and this injury and having to see a specialist will make it even more interesting.

I know God is good and he will carry me and my family through this but, the power of prayer can't hurt anything.

I would like to thank everyone that has prayed so far for this situation and would like to thank you for continuing those prayers. I am in constant prayer for everyone in all possible situations and continually praising God for His sacrifice for us.

Hopefully I will be able to update you on Monday or Tuesday with the progress.

Thanks for the update. So glad you finally got word from the doc ^_^

Father, bless this mom. Heal her ankle completely, guide her doctors, and let everything work smoothly. Give her peace of mind throughout this busy week. Bless her precious twins on this 12th birthday, the last hurrah before the teen years. haha. And anoint their teen years even now, call them to walk close to you Father. Move upon their hearts and fashion a future where their hearts are steadfast and set upon you, immovable and maturing in Christ exponentially every day. In the name of Jesus.

We agree for a touch during this worship event. If her healing is a matter of a process she must endure, then we ask that the worship event be a powerful ministry and that you would allow her to do all for the glory of God. Cause her to have no pain, cause her injury to not distract in any way, we trust you Father with this entire situation and pray that ministry and praise would go forth from this event and touch the lives of many for Christ. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Guess What my doctor was wrong----- it is NOT fractured. I have torn ligaments it looks similar on exrays the orthopedic said. well I'm still on crutches and have to go to physical therapy. Oh and the director of the worship event at college this weekend told me I'm not allowed to use my crutches. I could scream I'm not allowed to put weight on it yet and he said no crutches on stage. I'm sorry but, that is discrimination. It was at this college that these torn lligaments happened and in the same room at that. If I had to use crutches from birth would he be able to say I can't be in it if I'm in the department? No, I most likely would not have made it in at all. AAAAArrrrrggggghhhhh!!!!! ALL I WANT TO DO IS GLORIFY GOD AND PRAISE HIS NAME but, this anger is keeping me from that. I know all I have to do is talk to the director but that is difficult. God still needs to recieved the glory.

His,
Stifled Angel

I don't fault you for being angry. I would be too... about the whole situation. But I think you're right about getting the anger under control and looking at this with a fresh approach. It's not a sin to be angry, Jesus was angry in the temple when he trashed the tables and ran people out of the building with a little whip. We are to be angry but to sin not.

In the big picture, God oversees all that he allows to happen to us. I hate that you got injured and now may not be performing... but people are watching you and God is watching to see how you're gonna handle that justified anger. It may be that you are to push to keep your spot, sometimes that is his will. Or it may be that you are to humbly step to the side and be an encourager, sometimes that's necessary to work something in ourselves or in the people watching us. One is not a better or more righteous option than the other, imo. It always sounds better to be the timid one, but that's not always God's will for us in a given situation.

Seek God and whichever one he is emphasizing, go after it with diligence and excellence.
Love to you.

Father, bless this musical gal. This is a heartbreaking injury and situation, but you have ordered her steps. You never plan our hurt, but you allow some things to bring about excellence in ourselves and in the calling/witness you have privileged us with. Speak to her heart and let her rightly discern whether this is a time for boldness and courage, or a time to come along side and be a help. It can be a humbling experience to swallow that pride and back away from sin, we are tempted to be ashamed of that rush of emotion. But Father I pray that there be no condemnation on this beautiful woman of God. We have all been in her place facing difficult and conflicting passions. Calm her emotions, clear her thoughts and refresh her spirit so that she can hear your voice and follow your leading in whatever she needs to do to bring you glory. Thank you for your presence in her life and her absolute commitment to you. Give her a testimony in all that she says and all that she does so that those around her will see Christ. Encourage her heart in this difficult situation. In the name of Jesus. Thank you Father. Amen.
