My wife died 21 years ago today. She irratated the heck out of me because she would not put a new roll of toilet paper on the spindle. She set it on top of the spindle. This may seem crazy to some ... but I would give anything to see that new roll today.

I am sorry Coaster. Losing someone you love is very difficult. People always say you eventually get over it, but I don't think you ever get over the ones you loved with all your heart and soul. I too have been grieving over someone I lost 17 years ago. So I know how much it hurts. I know that doesn't make you feel any better. I am just saying I understand.

Anniversary death dates are hard. Today is the day my nephew died in 1997, drug over dose, and my wife has been sappy all day.

Yes, new68, I fear you are correct. It doesen't matter if it is 17 years or 21 years or more. She was the love of my life, my best friend, and the mother of my two sons. I look at them (my sons) and see her, in varying degrees. But such is life, she gave me two boys that are now fine and honorable men with children of their own. She will live forever ... I just wish I could hold her.

APZR, I feel for the loss of your nephew. To lose a loved one is never easy. But it must be particularly difficult to lose a young one. May God's face shine upon you this day.

I'm sorry for your hurt. I've never lost a close loved one so I don't know how it feels. But I will pray for your hurt to be healed.

You must have loved her very much.

Thank you, mrtigger for your sentiment. I did and I do still love her very much. It was amazing how she could tell me to "shut up and eat your cornflakes" and demand I pick up my underware and clean your shoes, without seeming mean.

But that was yesterday.

By the way, Tigger was always my favorite character in the Winnie The Poo series.

Thanks, Konstantinos, but being a man myself I am not sure a hug from a man would help. But I sure do appreciate your sentiment.

Hey Brother, I feel for you and ask the Lord to wrap his arms around you, and give you great comfort during your period of sadness.

During my 55 years of being a pilgrim and stranger in this world in which we live, I've had my share of losses...through death, separations(my wife left me and my three children over 20 years ago), and other circumstances. My Dad died when he was 40 (I was 14), and I miss him every day...my Mom has been gone since 2001, and I miss her...yet I can rejoice because I know I'll see them again to never be separated again.

I was a pallbearer on my friend's funeral (I was 10 and so was he), and the next year I lost another friend and was again a pallbearer (he was 11).

The older I get, the more I realize that people come and go in your life, but Jesus is always with you and will be until He comes to take you home.

"Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted".

Irvin

Hello Coaster

I hear you loud and clear Coaster. Please acdept my condolenses. My wife passed away after 39 years. I recently re married as many do but have found it the hardest adjustment of my life. My first wife was a jewel to get along with but this one has some things that grate on me occasionally.

Tell me, are you dating again? I personally would urge you to. You don't have to be dead serious about it but all work and no play does make Jack a lonely boy, you know. Watch how extensively you play though. You could romance your way into a trap.

I hope you see this as humorous but don't hesitate to move out into life again. In the meantime, you might use this time of singleness to get closer to God.

Hello, jn1010lf:

Condolence duly accepted and appreciated. "39 years" reminds me of Jack Benny (I think you know what I mean). I started dating (again?) many years ago and even considered marrying two of them. One it was obvious we would not be able to blend my family (two boys) and her family (one of each). The other, twice she said to me "[her late husbands name] used to do it "this" way"

They were both good women in their good right ... but what was so different with them and "my girl" was that my girl would have said "OK, get off your butt, you fix "this" and "I'll fix "that". Whereas the two I mentioned seemed to expect me to fix everything. It was not the partnership I experienced before. And as lofty as it may sound ... I will accept nothing less from a partner than to be a partner ... farts, panties, bad lipstick, moments of bilateral stupitity, and all; etc. etc.

As or your last statement ... thank you. But if the need was to get close to God I would not be posting in Men Only. My relationship with The Master grows everyday. This is an outlet. I never moved out of life, I miss her in mine.
