On my computer I have been using BSafe online I think it's also called American Family Filter But it works really really good I'm not sure if it will work on a mac though but it's definitely worth looking into

Another free alternative is OpenDNS. Just do a Google search.

It is not intended to be as robust as a Commercial Off The Shelf package but it does a nice little job with no dollars. :)

I would recommend visiting the Computers and Technology portion of this community if you have questions in the future regarding technology.

As for your question, I don't use an internet filter, so I'm of no help on this particular subject.

I had one called ContentBarrier.

http://www.intego.com/contentbarrier/

Everytime you go to a site that's on the blocked list, it makes this loud buzzing noise and the little bear covering his eyes shows up. It works great, and you can always turn off the buzzer. =)

It's kinda expensive, but it works well, so it's really not a loss.
