Does anyone know where you can find long denim skirts? Skirts that go to your knees or longer? I really like wearing skirts but it is very difficult to find ones that aren't short short. And on the "rare" occasion that I do find a long denim skirt they never have it in my size (im a size 0). Why is it so hard to find modest skirts?

Did you try Ann Taylor / Ann Taylor loft or Talbots.. it is difficult to find the size zero but both stores carry them. I have a knee length denim skirt from the Ann Taylor Loft. A zero is almost always in the petite section, so you need to be looking for stores that carry petite. Knee length skirts are usually considered business casual appropriate - both those stores are focused on business dress and casual dress. Its getting harder to find petite clothes so if its more expensive, don't be shocked. You may need to go nicer stores like Nordstrom , Macys or have a good seamstress/tailor.

Why is it so hard to find modest skirts? I found my last couple of long demin skirts (the one I have now is a size "1") at Old Navy. It's nearly ankle length. Very comfy. eta: I don't find it hard to find modest skirts at all. Actually, the majority of skirts now are a calf-length or just below the knee cap.

It's hard for me to recommend places since I'm not in the US, but I have found some modest clothing at stores like H&M and Old Navy. I don't have a problem finding modest skirts (I'm a skirts only so I'm always looking) at regular clothing stores.

Thrift store. Generally the only place I can find a size 0 is in the Juniors section, which isn't always modest. Every time I've tried the petite section they start at a size 4 or 6. Granted, this is Kohls and Target, might be different at Ann Taylor. If you can sew, it isn't too difficult to turn an old pair of jeans into a denim skirt. I did one and it turned out pretty well and didn't cost me anything but time since I already had the jeans.

Thrift store! I prefer mine ankle-length or just above, plenty of swing to it. And it has to have pockets!

Our thrift store has lots of them. I have a friend that is skirts only, and they had a ton of long maternity skirts the other day, so I told her about them.

Land's End is another place that I shop for skirts - not sure about sizes since I am a lot larger than a zero, but I know that they have a pretty good range of sizes. I am with somebody on pockets. I am a teacher and I am to the point that I can't teach if what I am wearing doesn't have pockets - I use them all day long and drives me crazy if I wear something that doesn't have pockets. It can be hard to find skirts though. I actually made sure I moved all of mine this weekend except for one because they are so hard to find and I just got a bunch that I really like.

I think a lot depends on where you live as well. Where I live you can hardly find skirts and not see at least one, especially at a Goodwill.

The only place that I have had any success in finding long denim skirts that aren't expensive is the second hand store. I generally dislike second hand stores because they seem rather... nasty, but I have found a few stores that are clean and nice, and I've purchased quite a few skirts that look brand new!

I don't really wear long denim skirts, but I've seen them practically everywhere from Dillard's to Goodwill. The one denim skirt I do wear is ankle length with some swing near the bottom. I don't wear it often, cause it's made to fit tighter than I like in the hips and it's cut like a low rise pair of jeans...so I have to be cautious of the top I'm wearing with it.
