Will be 50 next year.

Had my first mammogram.

Letter said I needed more tests.

Breastfed & chiropractor said sometimes clogging shows up.

If the problem is in the right side I may have moved during the filming.

Wasn't a digital. Should I look for a digital machine or not ?

Anyone else have to have follow up ?

Will it be another mammogram or is there some other test that is performed.

Will call doctor tomorrow.

I can only tell you my experience... with my first or second mammogram, it took months to get that appointment. They called me back just a couple of days later to tell me to get back in within the week. Talk about being scared!! I was only 35. The next visit was another mammogram so they could look at it a little closer, and the radiologist himself came in to talk to me about the findings. Within a week and a half, I had a biopsy and it was a little tiny fibroid just underneath the skin. They had me all worked up over that???

So, don't worry too much... there may have just been some blurring since you moved. Still, I'll keep you in prayer.

Only had to wait 3 days for an appointment.

Second appointment wasn't until July 8 then they called & had a cancellation for tomorrow. It is a diagnostic one & they only do them in the mornings. So I head in tomorrow. I'll be there from 8:45 till 10. It is in the right breast so maybe the movement caused a shadow.

Also had a bone scane & I have osteopenia. Which is pre osteoperosis. Went from -1 to -2.6 in around 3 years.

Didn't take calcium like they suggested the first time. Now I take 2 horse pills per day 1 in am & 1 in pm.

Anyone have any other tips ?

Suppose to walk or do weight bearing exercises.

Apparently, typing doesn't count.

weight baring exercises are KEY to bone strength and density.

Get to it!!

And why didn't you take the supplement the first time??

Bad Jackie. Glad you are taking it now!

Uhhh...do I really have to answer that ?

Lazy...preoccupied...denial ....I don't remember. Yea, the 3rd & 4th one !

Probably still adjusting to Marshall's kidney transplant.

Maybe I didn't expect it to continue going downhill. I need to research when it turns in to osteoperosis. Cause I really don't want to be one of those old hunch back people. Old is bad enough, but old & hunch backed it not acceptable.

Went to Walgreens & stocked up on 2 honkin sized bottles.

The lady tech took 4 pics with smaller squishers. It was more uncomfortable because of that & probably cause of my monthly. Which started last night on day 36. I think I ovulated 3 times.

Had to walk down the hall to sono & she took pics & measured. There are 3 or 4 cysts with liquid at the top of the right breast. Most are in center or towards sternum. She asked if I used hormones. Told her I used progesterone cream.

The radiologist from Wichita said they appear benign & I should come back in a year unless they bother me. Since she is from the big city she probably sees more mam films than our town radiologist. She didn't elaborate on the hormone usage.

The largest cyst was 1 cm. Not even able to feel them.

Lady from church said liquid good. No liquid bad.

Off to enjoy New Orleans if the humidity will let me. Will try to remember to take calcium.

Ds4, 11, was worried I had cancer.

Have to take ds2 to dr. for sore throat.

I'm the one who started the other thread. I have 3 children and am planning on telling my youngest child today, after his last day of school. I told my middle child yesterday, after his last exam, and I told my oldest child the same day the doctor called. How did you tell your children about it? How much information did you share with them?

What are you telling them exactly?

I wouldn't be telling them anything until I had a definitive diagnosis. Why worry them?

Your first mammogram is a lot about establishing a baseline from which to compare future mammograms.

Anything....anything out of the ordinary or whatever is flagged for follow-up to be sure there is accuracy for future reference.

Dh informed them. Just the basics. The machine would take pictures.

I did tell them the spots were cysts with liquid & they were benign & I would have the test done yearly.

Didn't have a choice after dh had impromptu family meeting about it.

I found it interesting that the youngest verbalized his angst.
