God created us because He loves us.
We sinned.
So He sent us His Son, Jesus, so that we have a means to find repentence and to be back with God.
What does God really want? Here's what Jesus said:
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind ... Love your neighbor as you love yourself." Matthew 22:37
Some may call this "glorify Him", others may say praise Him etc ... So you're probably right in what you're thinking.
The reality is that, sadly, many years after these words were spoken, there are still millions who don't even care about them, never mind obey them.

ACTA 17:
24.God that made the world and all things therein , seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

26.And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed , and the bounds of their habitation;

28.For in him we live , and move , and have our being ; as certain also of your own poets have said , For we are also his offspring.

We are His children, He made us to become His children - children of light......and to receive back from us what every father receives back from his own children.....love, fellowship, service, and joy IMO.

The meaning IN life is Jesus Christ. We were created to worship God and there is no life outside of that.
