As I write this blog, over 350+ killed from an Indian cyclone, 9 killed/17 injured from a massive South Korean wave, and 8 killed in an Arkansas tornado (only 1 out of 25 that touched down). It seems like mother nature is getting worse and worse as time goes on. Is He coming soon?

Shalom, Dan-the-man!

Well, considering that it's not "Mother Nature" (an alias for the godess Gaia) but by YAH's power that the weather is turned, it COULD be that it demonstrates Yeshua` is coming soon, BUT consider Yeshua`s words:

Luke 13:1-5
1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answering said unto them,
Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

The weather doesn't HAVE to mean that His Judgment is coming soon; however, His Judgment WILL have with it consequences in the weather!

Well, as most Christ followers know the weather is just one thing to watch in the last days. But, yes things are being set up.

I try to stay away from the book of Revelations, but have read a few versus (couldn't finish the whole book). heh... yet I don't recall anything about the weather. I'm not doubting your words, but I would like to see where in scripture it talks about the weather being a sign. Like I said, I have only gotten passed a few scriptures in Revelations -- which could be why I can't recall. Please help! hehe

Here's an interesting little quote from Mark:

Mark 13:7-8

7When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

8Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

I read that part... but it has nothing to do with the weather.

I hate to be the one to burst the bubble, but wars, earthquakes, and famines have been happening for eons....

I personally hope that things end soon. I want to reside with Christ. I want a new body and a new earth. When the train comes, it will come. Just make sure you have your ticket.

Yes this is one of the signs of Jesus' soon coming return. Jesus said, "There will be famines pestilances and earthquakes in diverse places." Although these things have been around for thousands of years, the frequency and severity of these natural disasters seems to be getting worse and worse every year.

This is what I believe Jesus meant, that during the time of the very end these things, including droughts, which leads to famine, pestilances, and earthquakes, including other natural disasters will increase rapidly and be more severe than ever before.

I don't think that the frequency seems to be increasing...I just think with media and global sattelite that we hear about it more frequently than we did even 30 years ago.

There have always been "starving children" somewhere. When I was a kid, they were in Korea. When my mom was a kid they were in China.

You must consider how many more souls there are today compared to 30 years ago too. Cities experience growth and increases in populations. If there are more people on the planet it would stand to reason that there would be more loss of life during catastrophes.

I agree. I'm also amazed that people are so quick to try to find where a disaster fits on their handy John-Hagee-End-Times-Chart rather than being brokenhearted and prayerful over the souls lost and lives destroyed in the catastrophe as I would imagine Jesus doing.

Kind of makes me wonder about priorities today and what that tells us about the end drawing near.

Another excellent post! (I was also wondering about the tribute to "Mother Nature" in the title.)

Wow when I wrote this post there was only 350+ confirmed deaths, but now the number is around 100,000. My prayers go out to all those people who were affected by this tragedy.

Absolutely. There is no doubt that this is a tragedy and I grieve for those who have lost their lives or their loved ones in the cyclone. People are often quick to judge and say "If there is a God, how could he let this happen?" I tend to marvel at the miracle of those who survive such a disaster. To me, that is proof that God is real.

Funny I should come by this topic right after being informed that there was an 7.8 "degree (?)" earthquake in China just yesterday... a sign?! *shifty eyes*
pray for those who were killed and those who survived

I am about 90 percent certain it may happen by the end of the year or a couple of months into next year.

As I said in a different thread I think that the prophesies of Daniel 8 and 11 appear to be repeating. And that 3 events predicted by these prophesies have occured. Which has me watching for the next event predicted. The overthrow of the government of Iran.

If this happens then I suspect that will signal a start to a major birth pang. Possibly a birth even. How does one get "plucked up" anyway?

Then there should be a 5 to 15 year pause before the 7 year agreement is signed and then things will be off and running.

Do I have the timeline right? Read Daniel 8 and think about it.

Luke 21.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Shalom, vixir.

You should check out Luke's version of the Olivet Discourse:

Luke 21:25-26
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
KJV

The Greek word "ouranos" is the word translated "heaven" and its primary meaning is the "sky." Thus, with the sea and the waves roaring and the powers of the sky trembling, we ARE talking about the weather!

I read this interesting article on all of the natural disasters happening...

Since it's post there's been a volcano erupting in Italy and another earthquake ...

Is not this talking about the Day of the Lord Retro? It does not mean we will not see abnormal disturbances in the weather and earth crust just before the end doe it?

Whether you or don't, the burning question is, "So what?"

And that people still try to set a timeline is evidence enough for me that they are not about the Lord's business and are going to be wrong - but probably won't even slow down enough to ponder that before beginning again...
