This is a list of the restricted and unrestricted free agents this year in the NHL. In the Summer doldrums of no hockey, let's play a game of "who is going where." This list is a tad old as it still has Grahme (now gone to Russia) and Wesley (retired) as playing for the Canes, The Canes need at least two solid d-men as they left Ward out to dry too much.

Well, the Lightning have been busy. They signed Ryan Malone and Gary Roberts before the free agency period started, we're still waiting to see whether Brian Rolston decides he wants to come to Tampa. He's apparently worried about quality of life and whether his 6yr old will have enough places to play hockey. I was pretty skeptical about the new ownership and Melrose as coach, but they seem to be doing all the right things so far....

The Canes traded much loved Erik Cole for the Oil's Joni Pitkanen. They have an overabundance of forwards and are in dire need of a solid d-man. They brought Anton Babchuk back from his banishment to Siberia. Hopefully, he will come back with an attitude adjustment Brought up some Rats in Conboy, Brookbank, and Bayda. Conboy and Brookbank are afraid to drop the gloves.

Marion Hossa bolted pretty fast. Or he says he plans on it. Weighing his offers, if you will... Im gonna guess either back to pittsburgh with a much increased salary, or he'll follow malone and roberts.

As long as the Ducks re-sign TEEEEEE-MOOOOOOO! I'm happy! Don't know about Doug Weight 3.5M plus for a 20 goal scorer is a bit much and there are so many other juicier prospects out there!

Detroit for hossa (should have seen it coming - and who can blame him?) and my team the stars got the man who had probably the most ingenious play of the playoffs. Sean avery proved himself EXTREMELY creative (for those who know what im talking about) vs martain brodeur. Glad to have him in dallas :D

My Canucks have offered Matt Sundin 20 mill over two years but no reply yet. I don't get what is going on in Matts Head. TWENTY MILLION for 14 months of work WHERE DO I SIGN UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Nassy is now a Ranger but I am quite happy with that though cause he really didn't do nothing for the team anyways.

I just wish he would make up his mind and tell the Canucks what he wants to do. Then if he dosen't sign we can use the money elsewhere. Canucks signed Steve Bernier out of Buffalo today. Sounds like a good pickup for the boys. Here is a complete list of Canuck Signing: RECENTLY SIGNED PLAYERS Name Pos Age Details Steve Bernier RW 23 Acquired from BUF for 2nd round pick (2010) and 3rd round pick (2009) July 4, 2008 Nolan Baumgartner D 32 Signed as an unrestricted free agent July 2, 2008 Alexandre Bolduc C 23 Signed as an unrestricted free agent July 2, 2008 Curtis Sanford G 27 Re-signed to one-year deal July 2, 2008 Ryan Johnson C 32 Signed as an unrestricted free agent July 2, 2008 Darcy Hordichuk LW 27 Signed as an unrestricted free agent July 1, 2008 Kyle Wellwood C 25 Signed to one year deal July 1, 2008 DEPARTED PLAYERS Name Pos Age Details Drew MacIntyre G 24 Signed with Nashville Predators Markus Naslund LW 33 Signed with New York Rangers July 3, 2008 Jozef Balej RW 26 Signed with Trinec (Czech) Colby Genoway RW 24 Signed with Mora (Sweden) Marc-Andre Bernier RW 23 Not tendered qualifying offer Trevor Linden RW 37 Retired June 11, 2008

ORIGINAL: Yankee Nut Trevor Linden RW 37 Retired June 11, 2008 That guy was a character player. He was an asset to the world of hockey! The Ducks didn't resign Weight and I actually am happy. They could afford a couple of good players for what they would be paying him. BTW, it looks like the Sharks are in a signing frenzy! They look like they want to make a serious run for the cup next year by signing Rob Blake, Dan Boyle, and Brad Lukowich.

honestly they could have probably done it this year. they would still have had to get past detroit, but the second round could have really gone to either dallas or san jose. and they sure didnt go down easy either in that last game :P

Well if Rob Blake can regain that crushing hip check and move the puck like I've seen him do in LA and Colorado they may just become the second CA team to win a cup! Dan Boyle can also add something at the blue line as well. I am not too familiar with Lukowich but he seems like a stay-at home defenseman based on his stats.
