Is today, 1 May 08. Are any prayer events scheduled for your area? Our small county is having two events tomorrow, one in the city park of our county seat, and one at a smaller town in our county. We usually have these every year. Unfortunately, they are usually led by the "established" larger churches, and it seems as if the ones I have attended, although pretty well planned and carried out, lack the leading of the Holy Spirit. Like the old song goes. "All is vain unless the spirit of the Lord comes down". I will pray for our nation, and I do plan on attending. I am the Chaplain of our local American Legion, but no one ever calls and invites me to participate...O well. Here is my prayer for the next President: Lord Jesus, we continue to pray for our next President. May it be someone like King Asa (2 Chronicles 14 v 2 "And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God"). Because he followed You, O Lord, the land had rest, and he had no war in those years because You had given rest. O Lord, in times like these, when there is trouble on every hand, we desperately need a man after your own heart to lead our nation. O Lord, prepare this one's heart, fill him with wisdom, knowledge and understanding. I know, O Lord, that You are in control of nations, and indeed of the affairs of men. Show yourself, O Lord, with a mighty hand; help our nation I do pray. In Your Name I do pray. Irvin L. Rozier aka walkin2e

National Day of Prayer Today is the nation wide day of prayer Take time to get on your knees somewhere Pray to God who rules with His mighty hand And ask that He shed His grace on our fair land In times like these we need a solid rock To hold our nation's anchor to the dock The dock is Jesus who rules and reigns Over men, kingdoms, nations and all things The United States of America belongs to God Not to the people, give me an amen and a nod Many folks tend to forget that God owns it all Let's call on His name before we stumble and fall A time of prayer will accomplish much good And maybe change the old neighborhood This change will cause a rippling wave The road to a revival may these prayers pave Copyright May 1, 2008 Irvin L. Yes, there are prayer events in at least two cities in this area. Each of these events involve different churches meeting together in prayer**I think they include some city officials.
