people say if u sin in OT time, u get punishment, but as we live in the GRACE time, i.e. NT time, if u sin n repent, God wl not punish u. do u agree? why?

i know a sister, she got an abortion before got married. she told she had no fear. bcz she knew she was forgiven. n she said THERE IS NO FEAR IN LOVE. but another friend also made the same mistake, now she fears whether G-d wl punish her that she wl not be a mother any more.
who is more correct? why? tks.

Neither is correct.

Act 17:30 "Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,

When we find something we do or did that is clearly unbiblical, we need to repent. That involves really understaning the gravity of our offense. The first girl seemingly does not realize this or she would not make so lightly of it. John the baptist told some to bring forth fruits of repentance. THis is in keeping with the Jewish understanding of repentance including restitution where ever possible. In her case it might mean supporting anti-abortion campaigns and organizations.

Rom 4:7 "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;
Rom 4:8 blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin."

The second needs to accept that as she has repented, God has truly forgiven her. He no longer holds this against her.

That does not mean that if the doctors did a bad job that it might interfere with a future pregnancy. That is NOT God's doing but man's.

The wages of sin is death. In OT times a sacrifice had to be made to pay the price of sin. In NT time and beyond, Jesus was the sacrifice. He paid the price for our sin.

God's word says if we repent, He is faithful and just to forgive. It also says that we are not to use grace as an excuse to sin.

We may still suffer negative consequences for our actions.

We can confess and repent, but we will reap what we have sown during past seasons of our lives.

Neither. Why? Because it is up to God to judge, not us.

He is our father, thus acts upon on us as a justly father. He punishes us like a father should. Likewise he will forgive us as a father should.

When I was younger I used to have a problem of stealing and taking things which were not mine without asking before hand. During this time in my life people would take/steal a LOT more from me than I would of others. I picked up on the trend and stopped. Since then I've had very little stolen/taken from me.

Don't expect your sins to go unpunished.

Everything we do has a consequence - be it a good one or a bad one. The consequence of a Christian swallowing cyanide is the same as if an atheist did so.

God does not have to protect us from unbiblical decisions.

For example - God does indeed forgive and He does indeed correct His children. A woman can get pregnant out of wedlock... repent and indeed receive God's forgiveness. But the child in her womb or out.. does not just go *POOF* when she repents.

The natural consequence is there...
