My brother and sister in law are miserable at managing money. They regularly go to those payday loan places or Auto title loan places. Getting the max ($500.) Then on his payday he pays them back $587.50 or a roll over $685.. Or whatever he can get for his car. Then the other day my sister got a call for a reference.. Now is she responsable or should she put up (my sister) with calls should they default?.

No she will just get harassed until they repo the car and sell it auction if it isn't paid. Then they'll still be responsible for the difference.

She might want to consider changing her number and not giving it to her sister.

They had too many of those in Phoenix-Mesa. There was one place where you could get a payday loan for $1,000. But yeah they are a trap. What happens if your check doesn't cover the loan?
