I spend $120 a week. It's not an average, though, it's what we budget to spend.

We spend $350 a month on all household expenses - which includes but is not limited to; groceries, diapers, cleaning supplies, stamps, stationary and gifts for other people.
I don't limit myself to a weekly budget as I stockpile if an item is a rock bottom price, however I am very strict about not going over the $350, and in fact usually don't spend much more than $300 in a months time on those items.

I grocery shop at WalMart, so it's hard to know exactly what percetage of that is spent on groceries. I usually spend $150-200/month on anything that can be bought at WalMart. There are just 2 of us, though, and we eat out waaaaayyyy more than we should Our grocery bill looks small and our entertainment budget looks huge

I budget between $75 and $100 a week. That's average that goes up certain months and down other months depending on birthdays and holidays. That's feeding a family of 6 including one teenage boy and a younger boy that eats like a teenager!

Blessings,

Garsy

You must be wonder woman. I cannot imagine getting away with that little for groceries. How on earth do you manage to do that?

I spend between $700-800 per month on groceries and household supplies, like tp, laundry powder and soap. There are six of us: three adults, 14 yo girl, 11 yo girl and 8 yo boy. I rarely buy junk food, except ice cream.

For us that is JUST food. I have another line in the budget for household supplies.

I buy primarily generic, and NOTHING unless it's on sale. It helps that my husband is not a big eater. Ever since his gastric bypass surgery he simply can't eat like he used to. It also helps that my girls are birds. I also have a garden that provides us with a lot of our fresh produce throughout the summer months and into the fall. I planted several hills of potatoes this year too. We also have to watch the sweets in this house as my hubby is diabetic and I have a child that is borderline. We do a lot of our own baking from scratch because I can control the amount of fats and what sugars are used.

I'm sure it also has a LOT to do with where we live. I've found that here in Indiana our cost of living is cheaper then in other parts of the country. My brother and SIL live in Southern California and can't believe that I feed all of us on that either as that is their budget for just the two of them.

Blessings,

Garsy

Hmm, I think probably around $70 including toiletries. I haven't averaged it out in a while, so I don't know for sure since I order meat separately, in huge quantities, for the freezer, and I buy a few other staples online in bulk.

I spend between $50-$80 a week including toiletries. I don't stick with one brand, I go for what's on sale with whatever coupons I have. I also look between 3 stores - in my case Meijer, Kroger or Walgreens and sometimes Walmart and Rite Aid. I don't live far from these stores so I can get around. I prepare our meals for what's on sale that week. And like what Garsyt mentioned, the cost of living is cheaper also here in the midwest and I lived in So Ca most of my life. And I forgot, we do have a store that just sells veggies and fruits and they're so super cheap. I bought a box of grapes one time for $2 and I'm not sure how many pounds were in the box. I think there were 8 or 10 bags in the box that we ended up giving them to neighbors.

I spend on the average about $175 per week, that includes cleaning/paper products. I am feeding a daycare of 18 and a family of 3...breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and supper. We eat out about 3 nights a week.

$350 a month includes TP, paper towels, soap, deodorant and stuff like that. Diapers and wipes aren't included in that figure. That's another $95 a month from Costco.

I spend $75 (Canadian) per week on not-meat groceries, plus about $150-$200 every 2 months on direct-from-organic-farmer meat... so that's about $100 per week combined & averaged.

A few years ago, when I budgeted food it was $30-60 a week (groceries only) for a family of 6 with small children.

I think we were up to $75-90/week in the past year with my oldest son eating more than we do and the next two coming close sometimes. This summer has been crazy though and my youngest is on a special diet. I'll have to redo my budget later when I add up the numbers from the last month.

Thanks for the push, I needed to do that and have been putting it off.

$90-$120 a week.

@$80 a week groceries (including special food)
@$20 a week (if I spread it out) for the meat we bought last fall
$5-10 a week for farmer's market, food plants or seeds

Our monthly budget for groceries is $300-$350; which I have been putting our grocery budget on a giftcard once payday (hubby gets paid once a month) rolls around. We have 2 big shopping trips in a month w/ mini trips for milk and fruit. I also have been stock piling more, keeping my eye out for manager specials, and being more mindful of what goes in the cart.

Kroger has been running some awesome deals lately especially on chicken breast. I have a nice little stockpile of chicken breast in the freezer because they have been on sale for $1.99 lb. They had a 3 day sale and had whole fryer chickens for $.59 lb. Meat is the biggest expense for us, but we are a meat eating family so I can't cut it out to much. Though we do try and do a few meatless meals a month. I hope hubby is able to get at least one deer this hunting season because we will have it processed into ground meat which I can use in place of hamburger meat.
