The one thing that I like about it is the improved visual clarity. I would say after my Vista upgrade, my viewing has improved by 5% to 10% on the exact same hardware. Why wife even thought I got a new monitor.

Has anyone else noticed this?

My guess is that there was a direct X change in there somewhere.

Vista shipped with DX 10. If the video card is DX 10 compatible it looks much nicer. My wife's 3850 totally blows my 7800GS on the same monitor brand and model.

The fonts you use play a role in visual clarity and how effectively and fast you can read through text on a monitor. Good fonts to use on a monitor tend to be different than the ones you would use on paper. The best fonts to use may also depend on what kind of monitor you have (ie: LCD, plasma, CRT, etc...), refresh rate, resolution, etc... or, in the case of a print out, what kind of printer you're using, dots per inch, etc... You can google studies on some of this stuff (and, if memory serves me correctly, Microsoft did such studies in order to develop the true type fonts) but a problem is that different studies tend to contradict other studies.
