I have to beg for your prayers once again. I have always said the closer we draw to this particular candidate the stronger the spiritual warfare. It is now beyond strong, it is vicious! I pray this whole church will survive. The enemy cannot win here.
So you know, this search committee and board have taken the charge of finding a new pastor for our congregation very seriously. We found no confidence in ourselves but only trusting in the wisdom that God provides. We've been praying and seeking prayer. We truly seek God's will and God's choice for this congregation. This candidate has received full scrutiny and has been confirmed to us in many ways. We have done the due diligence so we have every confidence that this is God's choice for our congregation. This candidate has also been in strong prayer for God's will and direction for himself as well as our church body. We don't go into this lightly.
There is supposed to be a vote this coming Sunday, June 29. But that may not happen. There are some who want the vote postponed.
Please pray that those of us who have been battered and beaten - especially the Board Chairman and Search Committee - continue to Stand strong in the Lord, Fight the good Fight, and Finish the Race. And maybe pray for a little relief and healing.

Father,
Thank you for your wisdom that is based in love. Please cause your decision and wisdom to shine through leaving no doubt regarding who the new Pastor should be. Give the unity of the mind of Jesus Christ to each Board member and each congregation member while healing them all and giving relief. Help in every way that you see is best those who are battered and beaten. We pray this in the name of your Son, who is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Dear Lord, I pray for Mom and the rest of the folks on the search committee and on the board. You know the struggles their church has gone through. You know how they have relied on You through it all. Let Your Spirit fall on the congregation, search committee, and board. Bring unity and healing. Bring comfort and refreshment. Bring perseverance and peace. May YOUR will be done in the next week. Thwart the plans of the enemy, who is seeking to destroy Your work and will in this situation. Your Word states that we will find You when we seek You with all our hearts - this has been done, Lord. Now please fulfill Your promise and purpose in this situation.
In the name/authority/purpose/will of Jesus,
Amen!

The first opportunity for congregation to meet with our candidate was tonight. I was not there but the report came back from another team member that it went EXTREMELY WELL! One of our strongest opposition said they realized they had been being used by Satan and that all anyone had to do is talk to this candidate to realize he is the right man for our congregation.
THANK YOU LORD!
And I thank all of you for your prayers!
We have two more scheduled opportunities to meet him then Sunday morning. I pray that these will go just as well.

Thank you all for your prayers!
God has blessed us with a 100% positive vote for this pastoral candidate that He brought our way. God's fingerprint has been on this the whole time and I just praise Him that His will has been accomplished. I praise Him for the many confirmations that this candidate was His choice for our congregation. And I praise Him that the enemy was not successful in using anyone to thwart God's plans for our little corner of the world.
I pray now that when this pastor is installed at our church in mid-August that we will move forward in winning and feeding people for Jesus Christ!
