Father, we lift up the elderly to You. Those who are feeble, weak, struggleing, forgotten. Father, help us to see them and care for them through Your power. Bless them and comfort them Lord, and hold them close. Draw them close to You in they're last days, and bless them with the peace that comes from know You. In Jesus name we ask. Amen

YES LORD

I help take care of an ederly man in his home, for a few hours a week

His name is George and he's almost 95. He is is so sweet

still lives in the house that he was married in and raised his 2 daughters in.
HE was married for over 60 but under 65 years when his wife died in 05

He can do a lot for himself, but there's a lot that he can't do.

Oh Lord, I too have a burden for our elderly!! My mother is 82 and it is so hard to see her not being able to care for herself. My memories from childhood are of my mother on her hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor, cooking the meals, and at one point holding down a part time job. Please be with her Father and with all those seniors who we here in the United States seem to forget. Help us to honor them the way that they deserve to be honored. Help us to respect them and to learn from them. Help us as the children of elderly parents to see the treasure that we have. Comfort them O Lord and give them peace. In Thy Precious Name, Amen

yes Lord, we agree together for the elderly. Bless them and encourage them today. Fill their latter years with multiplied blessing, increased far beyond anything they have every known in their lives to this point. Give them laughter as a strong medicine, and heal any hurts that are in their heart or their body. Our mentors, those that have gone before and broken the ground for the harvest we enjoy in our lives are precious. We honor them. Let them know that they are cherished and not forgotten. Affirm them and remind them that they are loved and of great value to so many. Turn the hearts of their families and neighbors to them, and cause them to return a blessing back a hundred times over to the elderly in their lives. With genuine love and with practical relevant ministry. Thank you Father, In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Joining you in praying for the elderly. May they find peace in the Lord, and if they don't know Him, may they open the door when He knocks.

As I continue praying for the elderly, I am thankful for all they have to offer us. Their life experiences. I think about how much we can learn from them ... if only we take the time to sit and listen, share a cup of coffee or tea, give them some time, attention, respect, and honor their lives.

Yes, Lord we lift up the elderly unto You. May they have the blessed assurance of Your presence in their lives.

I preached at the Nursing Home this morning, and the nurses were bringing them in...best crowd we had in a while. As we sang the old songs, I could look out and see joy in their faces, despite the fact that most were in wheelchairs.

I preached on John 17, stressing verse 20 where Jesus prayed for all who would believe.

May the Lord richly reward those who show care and concern for the elderly.

Thank you SparkelingSnow, for this thread, and walkin2e, for your call to those people have forgotten, what a precious man you are.
Lord I pray for those some in society has forgotten, I ask you help those in nursing homes are comforted, and held in your arms. I pray for my parents Bob and Jean, and everyone who has elderly parents. Renew the strength of the elderly, so they can mount up as on Eagles wings. I pray for in-laws, Judy and Eddy. I pray for widows and widowers who suffer from being alone. I pray for the mothers and fathers of our faith, in our churches. I pray for health, prosperity, and your divine love poured out upon the elderly. I thank you for those who care for, and minister to the elderly, bless them in a very special way. I pray for those in pain, that you give them a good day. Thank You Jesus, Amen

This made me almost cry, when praying for those who care and minister to the elderly. It also gave me goose bumps thinking what a great reward God has in store for you.
