Just thought I'd tell you our story. My husband and I just celebrated our 6th anniversary. We met in a divorce chat room online and were ending our marriages - waiting for final paperwork. We chatted online for about 6 months before we decided that God had his hand on bringing us together. After our divorces (adultry/abuse involved), we didn't want to go the usual route of trying to find another. I lived in Maryland, hubby in Minnesota. Weird but about the same time (before we met) we both had asked God to take control and find the right person for us to be with. We chatted every day online or talked on the phone after getting to know each other better. God uses what he can to bring the right people together - for us it was the computer. This takes a ton of trust, communication, and love to be a success. But we handed everything over to God to be the pilot. He gave us both the complete trust in each other because we could not be physically together. For the next 18 months we continued to "date" and saw each other a few times a year. We sealed our committment to each other. Thru other people's problems (in the divorce room) and God's guidance we worked out a lot of the mistakes that cause 2nd marriages to fail. One of the biggest things that helped was that we both had custody of our kids and the ex's had little to do with them outside visitation. After 9/11 happened, we were determined to make everything final and I got a transfer to Minnesota. We got married on February 14th. The funny thing was that we had discussed about NOT marrying on holidays cause it ruins the holiday if you divorce. Since neither of us had any intentions of screwing up this marriage and we were doing it God's way - divorce is not in our vocabulary. We are happy to say that we've only had one disagreement (that involved our one son's start in driving) and have a very strong and healthy marriage. We found a wonderful evangelical church and are very active now and are God focused. He's the one that is in charge and we learned how to trust him to help us thru anything. We both found the person that truly is "perfect" and only wish that God had put us together from the start. But then we would not appreciate all this if we had not gone thru the bad things. God has a way to make us stronger. Divorce is never fun, but if you put your trust in God, things can work out and you can have the marriage you were meant to have.
