Are there any fans of rock operas out there? I have heard the Hero! The Rock Opera album and I have recently discovered the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other good rock operas out there.

There's really only one rock opera, The Who's "Tommy".

Tommy is my favorite; loved the music, loved the movie. How about Quadrophoenia? Or Jesus Christ Superstar? Mike

As far as I know, the originator of Rock Opera was Larry Norman, the guy who also invented CCM and has the earliest rap recording I know of. (1972) He wrote the R.O. "Lions Breath" and with the band People performed it several times as an opener for the Who who watched it intently before writing Tommy. People never recorded it but many of the songs ended up in Norman's first solo album "Upon This Rock."
