The very first time I witnessed to someone was when I was 8 years old. It was to my neighbor friend. Her and her family were/are not believers. When I told her about how I believed in God, she told her dad about what I had said. Her dad was/is an atheist and he taught his children his beliefs/unbeliefs. Her dad confronted me about telling his daughter about God, and basically started to debate with me. Because of the fact that I was still very young, and had absolutely no idea on how to deal with this kind of situation, I couldn't do or say anything that would help in defending what I believed in....only that the Bible said so, and I believed the Bible is God's Word. I wish I had been better equipped then.

I honestly dont remember how old i was when i first told someone else about Jesus. But i was around a teenager i know that much. And the little girl was maybe about 7. Maybe younger. Anyways i was babysitting her with a friend of mine and it was time for her to go to bed. I told her to say her prayers and she didnt know what i meant. I taught her how to do it and told her about Jesus. I wish i knew today what happened to her and if she kept up the prayers... The only struggle ive had with witnessing is when i try to do it to people that are atheists or people that are upset with God and back-sliding. It gets very frustrating for me to drill into them the truth and words of the bible and they come back with hateful comments about me, about God, about the bible and thinking that im the bad person instead. That gets very frustrating because sometimes i just wanna cry. And sometimes i do. I asked God one night to tell me what to do about it. The next morning my family and i went to church and there was a man there with his family that were talking about taking a trip very soon to India to witness over there. To unbelievers and to people that are lost. He was talking about God calling people to witness and that He called him to do it. That right there told me that God wants me to continue what im doing. Even though its hard ill never stop telling people the truth of Gods word.

when I am out evangelizing, one of the struggles is that nasty "preconceived notion" about believers. that sweeping generalization about how all believers are hypocrites, judgmental, harsh, mean, uncaring, self-seeking jerks.

I was cleaning a barn of a guy who was hanging over the stall door while I scraped and shoveled, and I shared the Gospel with him. His flow of talk turned to silence; he was too polite to say "get lost." What a shame. He was a really smart guy who dropped dead of a heart attack a couple years later. I'm almost mad at him for passing up that opportunity, but it was God's choice to not call him. Or maybe He did sometime later. I'll find out some day.

I was getting my hair cut and a guy, soft spoken, not brash or obnoxious but insistent that was telling us about his 'journey of faith', you know, 'I tried, Buddhist, Hinduism, Mormonism, Christianity...(He's not that old to have much experience with any but that's his story.) My barber is a 'minimal' Christian and she was at a loss and her looks appealed for help. I whispered a prayer and took an offensive(not O-fensive)posture and challenged him to show evidence of a change in a personal lifestyle of obedience in any those systems of belief outside obedience/sacrifice Christ. I didn't use those words but in our two minute conversation he was gone. I'm always excepting 'Chris' to show up somewhere around town. BTW, obedience and trepidation(fear)always go together(for me)in our vulnerability to His Will. Probably, the more we 'practice'(put into practice)our obedience the easier and more vulnerable(to Him)we become. We don't have to 'preach'; people don't want that, they want someone who cares for them, personally. Be that person and if the opportunity presents itself, for God's sake, take advantage our crack in their armor!

When I first got saved the only verse I knew was Romans 10:9. A long time friend one day showed up at my door,( we were going to hang together) with a huge black covered bible. I didn't say anything and as we were driving he was asking me questions about certain verses in the bible. I read them and then asked, "Do you know about God's Salvation?" He asked, "What is that?" Unfortunately I kept looking for Romans 9:10, so as he drove I skimmed and skimmed the pages until I found Romans 10:9. Right there and then he asked for Salvation. Unbeknownst to me, he died 3 months later. CRH
