Well I want to thank you all for all the prayers and encouraging words for the last 5 months that I didnt have a job. I had finally gotten a job offer last week and I started work last Thursday. Now that i have the job I have a question and/or need some advice already! Ok here goes! The 3 girls i work with are not into church, and I don't know where they stand just yet as far as their christianity or if they even go to church. One girl is in her 20's and she lives with her boyfriend and found out she is pregnant, another girl in the office has a potty mouth and both of them curse, the one girl is married and has a child, she said if she didnt have her child she would not be married to her husband...My thing is this, maybe God put me in this job to talk to them about God, I started talking about God to them the other day, my 3rd day there and they all kind of just looked at me weird, my boss says, oh u go to church, I guess I need to watch my language in front of you, I laughed and didn't really say anything. I know that the work place is touchy about talking about religious subjects or church or God, and I do not want to cross the and get fired already...My mom said, don't give up and quit already just because of this, maybe God put you there for a reason. That was already the first thing I said when I got the job, well 2 days after I started, I got a phone call for a job interviewwith a bigger position. The job I do have now, doesn't really pay too well, and I want to make sure I can live off this pay, and pay bills. I have been praying to God what ever his will is for me and where ever he wants me to be working I will be there. I prayed that I want to have money, and a wonderful job, and that I do not want these things out of selfish needs, but I want them to be able to help others in the world and to able to say I have been given these blessings because I gave myself to God and God is the one whom has given me everything, that way I can talk to them about God.. So, I think if I talk to the other job offer this week, I will at least check it out and see what its about..It could be another doorway for me, I have been praying for hard about this this week, and I have been praying about the job I just started as well. I get a very strong feeling every time I walk into the office that I will not be there very long, I just felt something from the 1st day I started which was last Thursday, I just don't feel a connection there and I don't want God to think that I am ungrateful, greedy or not happy...All of you know what stress and hurt I have been going thru these last 5 months of not having a job. The minute I told God I gave up and I surrender to him, is when I got this job 2 days later..... What do you all think, should I at least check out the other job interview and just see what is up? Since the job I have really has no money, the difference in pay from my previous job to this one is about $7,000 difference, to me that is a huge difference! So, even though I have been there a week, if they offer me a job and it is a good opportunity, how do I leave the other company and what should I say? I just don't know feel that this current new job is going to be the place, I do not feel it in my heart right now, and I do know how blessed and grateful I am that God brought me to this job, I really am, but is this God speaking to me about this entire situation, I have prayed specifically and boldly and it seems as though he is answering in a way, but I want to be sure.... Any advice would be appreciated, love u guys! kc

I think you should check out the other job. Don't ignore the feeling about the job you are currently working. Possibility that the other job is where God wants you to be. It won't help to go check it out. You may get a good feeling there.

Am asking the Lord to give you wisdom and direction. I work in an environment where I am the only Christian in the whole place. I believe God put me there to be a shining light to them - not to preach at them, but to live Jesus Christ in front of them. Over the year, they have got to know me and know I am a Christian and there have been one or two interesting conversations. The lady I work directly with apologizes to me for swearing, although I have never said a word to her about her swearing. I have noticed that generally the bad language has lessened over the time I have worked there, and of course, they get prayed for regularly! God does not always require us to preach at people. We are called to live differently than those who live in the world.. and to love them and each other. Perhaps God has allowed you in this place so you can live for Him, and they will be attracted to God by your very life. That is my prayer for myself, and as long as you are in a secular environment, I pray the same will happen for the people around you. In Him Sherri

kc, I would also check out the other job. As you know, when you go to an interview, that means you are stable. I would say I had made another commitment already to the 2nd job, if hired. They don't have to know how many interviews you go to, that's your business. God will get you where He wants you to be.

Check out the other job, but continue to pray silently for your colleagues. I also had no success telling people about Jesus at work, so I went to talk to a corporate chaplain about this. He told me that I should just be friendly, if possible invite them out for a coffee, and be open, show a compassionate and holy lifestyle. And when they get problems, the Holy Spirit will lead them to ask me for help. True enough, it happened to one of them and they confided in me (not saved yet), but she told me she felt she could trust me, and I was able to comfort her by telling her about God's love and grace. Years ago, I worked with a guy who was having an affair with his secretary; I witnessed to him and he laughed! But I prayed for him, and many many years later, I was surprised to see him graduating from the bible college I attended! You never know the power of the seed you sow, and results are seldom immediate. TD Jakes has a book about working in a hostile environment which is excellent - perhaps you can get a copy.

Hi there, I'm new to this forum, and I think God prompted me to join so that i could read your post. I am a teacher as a junior high school. God has placed me smack dab in the middle of a bunch of non-Christian teachers who party like mad and cuss like sailors. At first, I felt so out-of-place and wondered what in the heck God was doing to me! I just kept on being myself and asked God to give me opportunities to be the light of Jesus in their lives. Three years have passed. They all still party like mad and cuss like sailors, but they love me to death because I pray for them and just accept them the way they are. They used to apologize ever time they cursed in front of me, but they finally realized that I wasn't there to judge them. I send them a prayer every morning via text message, and if I happen to miss a day, they say, "Hey! I didn't get my prayer today!" I also write them scripture-based prayer letters on their birthdays and other occasions. They love it. Slowly but surely, I see bricks falling from the walls they have placed around their hearts. God is working in their lives, and I have every confidence that one day they will all be saved. I encourage you to bloom wherever God plants you, whether it be this current job or the other one you are looking at. God will show you, and He will give you the right words to say if you have to quit your current job. Just show them the respect of offering two weeks' notice so that they can find a replacement for you. And...pray for God to give you a chance to truly make a lasting, eternal impression on your co-workers before you go on your way. I pray for God to guard your steps and your heart. He has good plans for you. Blessings,

Lord direct this person to the place that You want her to be and where You can use her the best. In the name of Jesus, amen.
