I'm not very good at asking for help, but my own prayers don't seem to be working. I'm a believer who at one point was very passionate about Christ. I spent time in prayer and Bible study daily, attended church regularly, and was involved in ministry. Yet in the past 3 years or so all of that has changed.
I went through a period of depression and severe anxiety. I stopped attending church because I would have anxiety attacks there. I spent about a year getting that under control. During that time i became angry with my church b/c no one even seemed to notice i was gone.
Now, I just feel spiritually dead. I don't even have a desire to attend church, but i know i should. My lifestyle has become increasingly sinful. Things I would never have done 3 years ago, i do now with little remorse. I still pray sometimes, but nothing changes. I feel disgusted with my own complacentcy.
Please pray for me. I want to be back where i once was spiritually. I want to desire the things of God again, but i don't know where to start.

Thank You that we can come to you knowing that you understand all that Livnonfaith is experiencing. Thank you that she is seeking you. Thank you for giving her the desire to make a comeback.
We come to you for Livnonfaith in the name of Jesus Christ asking that you come to her rescue.
We ask for your intervention, your healing, your encouragement.
We ask that you be the wind in her sails.
We ask that you breathe into her your breath of life.
We ask that you give her all the help that you see is best so that this period of "down time" becomes a matter of history.

Livnonfaith may I suggest start reading His word again even if your not feeling like it. Maybe Galatians and Ephesians would be a good place to start. Maybe join a Bible study at another church where you cn be encouraged to grow. God bless.
Father, in agreement with the above prayer, asking that You would put a new desire in Livnonfaith's heart to dive into Your word. That You would give her new understanding. That You would suround her with fellow christians who have a burning desire to grow in You and Your love. That You would give her everything she needs and that she would turn to You as never before. Father I stand in agreement with this prayer. Please honor her desire to get closer, let your holy spirit minister to her and lead her to the next steps to be closer to you. In Jesus precious name, amen

Thank you all so much for praying. It means a lot to me. Sparkleing, I actually started reading Ephesians this morning.
I know i need to make some changes. I have been asking God to show me where to start. I realize that faith is not a feeling, but I feel very lost right now.

We ask that You renew the Holy Spirit residing in Livnonfaith now more than ever.
We ask that You help her with everything needed Father God to resolve the issues she has.

I got up early this morning to read my Bible for the first time in a long time. I realized how much i missed my quiet times with the Lord, but then it seemed like everything that could go wrong in a day did. I knew it was Satan trying to tear me down, but I wasnt strong enough to resist. I feel so angry and discouraged, but I'm not giving up.

I went through something similiar fairly recently, and just prayed and prayed about it. I told myself to thank God EVERY DAY for what he has, is, and will be doing for me. I cut out things that led me to temptation. Sounds pretty simple, but it really worked. Also, as other posts say, read his Word. The only way I can think to explain it is the power of the Holy Spirit feeling that desire in you again.
I'm going to post a devotional from C.H. Spurgeon. I posted part of it on another forum, but think the whole thing could be helpful here. If for some reason I'm not supposed to post works like this, please moderator let me know.
"Renew a steadfast spirit within me." - Psalm 51:10
"A backslider, if there is a spark of life left in him, will groan after restoration. In this renewal the same exercise of grace is required as at our conversion. We needed repentance then; we certainly need it now. We wanted faith that we might come to Christ at first; only the same grace can bring us to Jesus now. We wanted a word from the Most High, a word from the lip of the loving One, to end our fears then; we shall soon discover, when under a sense of present sin, that we need it now. No one can be renewed without a manifestation of the Holy Spirit's energy that is as real and true as at the first renewal because the work is as great, and flesh and blood are just as present now as they ever were. Let your personal weakness, O Christian, be an argument to make you pray earnestly to your God for help. Remember, David didn't fold his arms or close his lips when he felt himself to be powerless; instead, he hastened to the mercy seat with "renew a steadfast spirit within me." Don't let the doctrine that you can do nothing unaided make you sleep; but let it be a goad in your side to drive you with great earnestness to Israel's strong Helper. O that you may have grace to plead with God, as though you pleaded for your very life - "Lord, renew a steadfast spirit within me." Those who sincerely pray to God to do this, will prove their honesty by using the means through which God works. Pray often; live upon the Word of God often; kill lusts which have driven your Lord from you; be careful to watch over future uprisings of sin. The Lord has His own appointed ways; sit by the wayside and you will be ready when He passes by. Continue in all those blessed ordinances which will foster and nourish your dying graces; and, knowing that all the power must proceed from Him, never stop saying, "Renew a steadfast spirit within me."
