One surety of life is this:

You only get one time around. You only get one chance to do it right. Meditating on that has changed my perspective on life. This is just as of recently too. In the last two days.

What do you all think? About only having one time around? Does that change your perspective? Does it make you want to live differently?

Call me curious Poppy.

This life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. Just one life here on earth.

After that ... there's another life. What it'll be like depends on decisions you make in this life.

Makes you think, doesn't it?

Obviously one can't unscramble eggs, what's done is done. We can shed the tears of a repentant heart but God rarely removes the fruit of their disobedience and the damage to our witness and credibility will be borne as a legacy and our inheritance. However, we can nearly as easily, with proper priorities set, choose to be obedient to further worship and serve another not ourselves.

Looking back is not a healthy practice. my life changed 4 days after my 17th birthday in a way that could be called very unique. I died, and not metaphorically either
wow!!! would I love to go back to that evening and do some things a little different.

That is a good statement to help keep yourself in check.
However, no matter how many mistakes are made, as long as you alive, there is always an opportunity to change your ways.

The Lord Jesus is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, the first and the last (Revelation 1).

Remembering that. we can keep our circumstances and our disappointments in perspective.

Pops:

I reckon my wife and I have lived a good deal longer than you have, but I think you have known and proved it for yourself, right?

Take care.

Well, according to 2 Peter 3, we always need to keep growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Right?

Absolutely.

Even at times when it is very difficult and all your flesh wants to do it stop, stop, and stop.

Pops:

Well I think that different stages of life have their different pressures.

Yours as a young lady are probably different from those of my wife and me, aged as we are in our 40s.

The Lord strengthens His people, doesn't he? I'm sure you know that by experience.

Take care.
