I like knowing which group members sing the different songs on the groups' CD. I even tag each song in iTunes so I can pull up all solos by a group member (often on CDs by the multiple groups they toured with).

For the groups I know well, I can definitively say who sings each solo. But for groups I do not know as well, or groups where two singers have similar voice quality, sometimes I wonder. I think if we have a thread where we can post an album and someone more familiar with the group could post who sings each song, we could help each other out a lot.

I would envision this covering both current and older releases.

Let me look around for an album to kick this off...

Perhaps a Kingsmen fan can clarify solos on The Past is Past and Good Good God. I can tell the tenor and bass solos, of course, but I'm not sure I can distinguish between the lead singer and baritone's voices.

Feel free to keep multiple albums going at once. Just so we don't lose track of a request, I don't care how many are going at once.

Thanks! Any albums you're wondering about?

Or do you see all the singers in concert so often that you know?

There are still quite a few groups I've never seen in concert, and more that I've never seen other than at NQC.

I would need ones that I don't see often, too, and from groups that have had changes. I'll start looking thru some and get a list together!

Sounds good! If you post them one or two at a time, that would probably be best.

On second thought, if you have a whole list, go ahead and post it. From time to time I'll post an updated list of projects to go.

I just listened to He's a Good, Good God...

Solos were shared by Philip Hughes and Tony Peace.
Mostly Philip, though.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks! I can't open iTunes right now due another program (memory hog) that I have running, but I'll log in in a couple of minutes to see if I have any other questions.

Not really Daniel, for me, i usually can tell who is singing the songs just by listening to the song, unless its someone i don't know. But the groups with members i'm familiar, i can usually tell their voices.

Perhaps I am the only person who wonders who is featured on different projects! I was waiting for someone else to post here, so I wasn't the only one asking for help. But here I go...

Does anyone know who has the solos on any of these projects?
Greenes - From Our Heart (1988) (with Kim Greene Hopper!)
Freemans - A Way with Words (1999)
Kingsmen - Old Time Way (1998)
Brian Free & Assurance - Doing This For You (1998) (I'm not as familiar with the pre-2000 group)
