Have you ever thought about the words that we say to people every day? Do you ever think that might be the last thing that you ever said to them? I am facing a challenge that God has laid on my heart. I try to talk to people that I know as if I might never see them again. I know this sounds crazy, but what do you think?

I had an incident happen where I know that it was God who spoke to me on this matter. I talked to one of my neighbors that I had never talked to before. It was a nice conversation about the goodness of God and the weather. I had never ventured out of my comfort zone to talk to her. She had talked to me before, but I never really talked to her because I didn't know her. She died two days ago, and because of that conversation with her, I was able to comfort her family in a way that I might not otherwise have been able to do. God is teaching me so much about kindness to others!

A man we know felt he was supposed to witness to a longtime friend for over a week. He never got to his house, to his dismay the man & his girlfriend died in a motorcycle accident. Being sensitive to speak to people and what you say are important. We are His hands and feet.

That is so true. I did have an incident today that made it hard for me to do this. I had this person that I thought was my friend treat me like I wasn't even there. I would speak to her, and she would just ignore me. I just don't know what I could have said to her that made her so mad at me. So....I did not speak for the rest of the evening unless I was spoken to. I left there knowing that I have surgury coming up, and I won't see her for a couple of weeks. Yet, I couldn't bring myself to speak to her. Was I wrong in that? Should I have tried to talk through the situation?

Your welcome! If I can help to change just one person's point of view on this, I will have done the work that God intended for me to do. Sometimes, people look at me weird when I do it. They think I have lost my mind. Yet, by the kind words that I leave them with, I have planted a seed for someone to help grow. Even if I never see that person again, they will think about it. Kind words from a stranger could change someones life. Do you think that is true?

Yep yep. I try to be kind if I see someone in a funk. And as for the last thing, if it's someone very close to me, I always say I love them in some variation. My favorite song has a verse that goes: "August evenings bring solemn warnings To remember to kiss the ones you love goodbye Never know what temporal days may bring"

This should even apply to those people that you don't know. Even a smile can change someone's day. You never knw whn someone feels alone. a smile and a "hello" may be the thing that they need to keep them from hurting.

I think it's a very thoughtful consideration to speak to people as if your words may be the last. I try to take a similar approach - I prefer to speak to people with a complete, honest manner. Sometimes they won't respond to it, and there isn't much you can do if you're still hoping on having a positive influence. Sometimes all you can do is give one impression and let them mull over it. Hopefully things don't end off cold and distant, but sometimes we aren't destined to see the changes we effect in people.

This is so true, Yet, to know that you could possibly make a differance in someone's life, especially if the Lord leads you to speak to them, that is so powerful.
