After hearing the mention of the VeriChip being the mark of the beast, I decided to do a little research and this is what I came across.

http://www.antichips.com/what-is-verichip.htm

I was wondering what your thoughts are concerning the VeriChip? This *could* be it, but people also thought the Real ID act was perhaps "the mark". Whether this is/isn't the mark, I still wouldn't allow it to be implanted into my body. But it does sound scarily familiar to what Revelations preaches.

Here is the thing about "the mark". Unless you are having to worship someone to get it or bowing down before a statue of the antichrist, this ain't it. Now, most likely some semblence of this technology will be used to make the mark, but this specifically ain't it. The thing that worries me most about the Verichip and the RealID is that if someone places a small GPS beacon on the chip, you are suddenly traceable to within 5 feet to anyone who can hack the tracking code. That just doesn't make me comfortable when I know that the antichrist is coming.

We've had social security numbers for years. Everyone has them, and you can't get credit or even a job without them. Does that mean we have the mark of the beast? I'm sure someone's starts with 666.

I don't put much stock in the VeriChip either. I think the mark is something that you will have to deliberately choose to get and frankly, the VeriChip could be inserted into any of us without consent. (For example, you go into the hospital for surgery and come out chipped without your knowledge. Or babies could be sent home with them.)

Even if it's true that one would have to deliberately choose the mark, that's not to say that someone can't choose the Verichip (or something like it). Even if the mark (whatever it is, whether it's the Verichip or not, I don't know) can be inserted into someone without their consent, that's not to say that it can't be inserted with their consent. Perhaps laws could prevent it from being inserted without their consent, not necessarily any physical constraints of the device itself. I don't know, but it's just a possibility one can consider.

Much of end times prophecy seems to be the most ambiguous topics of the bible. I wish I could figure out what the 666 thing is (nothing makes sense but intuitively I figure it would be something simple and obvious). Then again, with added knowledge there could be added accountability?
