Actually the correct answer is dependence on Jesus Christ, which defines which God we are dependent upon.

Well, actually- I guess in a way- it all depends on your outlook.
I was brought up to believe;
Jesus is the Son of God, who - "IS", the Living God,
No one can get an audience w/ the father, w/o going thru "God" the Son,
God the; father, son, and holy spirit are one and in the same- yet three persons.
God the Father tells us to follow his Son- while the Son tells us to do all things for the glory/honor of our father
& so on, & so 4th
C where I am coming from?

By DECLARING DEPENDENCE(allegiance)ON GOD we are DECLARING INDEPENDENCE FROM THE WORLD. It's both sides of the same coin. The question is who is on the head's side, Jesus or me.

Dependence on God is my answer.
A lot of New Age groups live in little communities of their own making and try to shut out the world and live independant of the 'outside world'.
