If you haven't seen it, my post is a rip-off of TheRefinersFire's post in She Says, "What a car says about a man". He wanted to know what opinions women might form about men because of the car he drives. Overwhelmingly, the response has been "men may care about that, but women don't."

So that got me thinking - what opinions do men form about women because of the car she drives?

Because I'm the kind of women who knows little about car makes and models, I can't ask what impressions you would form about women based on specific car make or model. I'll just ask generally, and let you take it from there:

  • If she drives a sedan, the she...
  • If she drives a sports car, then she...
  • If she drives a truck, then she...
  • If she drives an SUV, then she...
  • If she drives a mini-van, she...
  • If the car is dirty, then she...
  • If the car is poorly maintained, then she...

I realize these things aren't absolutes, but is anyone willing to take a shot? What dose a car say about a woman?

My wife's car has never spoken let alone made any personal comments about her.

Those tell me nothing.

I generally get my clues from:

1. Brand
2. Vanity plate or not
3. Political bumper stickers and window decals

• If she drives a sedan, then she...
Is driving her husband’s company car… or is 20something, needed an affordable car, and watched too many Mercury commercials.

• If she drives a sports car, then she...
Is successful in her career and is a fun loving city girl. If she lives in the ‘burbs, most likely has a lawn service rather than getting dirt under her nails.

• If she drives a truck, then she...
Is an outdoorsy kind, likes hunting and fishing. Not necessarily a redneck, but probably doesn’t appreciate a live arts show or the opera.

• If she drives an SUV, then she...
Is a typical suburban soccer Mom, drives too slowly in the left lane blocking up traffic for miles while yapping on the cell phone. Has a “valued shopper” card at every grocery store in town, and is probably on the HOA board of the neighborhood.

• If she drives a mini-van, she...
See SUV above… except she is more conscientious of utility and passenger comfort than looking good for the neighbors in the big honkin’ SUV.

• If the car is dirty, then she...
Is disorganized and doesn’t manage time well to be able to spend 30 minutes at the automatic car wash.

• If the car is poorly maintained, then she...
Could be disorganized and a poor time manager, but also could be a poor manager of money. Probably doesn’t even know how to change the windshield wipers, and is too lazy to ask.

"V'room, baby!"

Cars say nothing about an individual. An individual and their characteristics say something about an individual.

Cars bore me to death, so comparing them to women wouldn't be a good thing. But if my girl was a car, she'd be the most shiny, gorgeous beaut on four wheels.

As a car lover and a 20 year veteran automotive technician :
The type of car is less important then how clean and maintained you keep it!
The majority of cars that have trashey interiors and need a wash are women that stroll in in outfits and hair do's that I can only guesstimate being in the 4 figure range..
I have also seen cars that were vintage 1980's and CLEAN! almost new looking, and here is jane the "girl next door" hair a little out of place, jeans and a concert T or old sweatshirt

Oh and APZR, it may not be that shes to lazy to ask how to change the wipers, maybe she doesnt think she should have to! Maybe she hopes that her BF or hubby would get off his back side and go do it while she makes dinner, or does his wash, watches his kids, or cleans his house...

Sorry but I am one of those "softer males" that sees how much the average woman does compared to her "man" that comes home and wants to do nothing more then to keep the couch from floating away..

My sister and mother get new blades put on every time I change their clocks ahead or back and smoke detector batteries.

Maybe so, but in my biz I get to see their car AND house. I'm often amazed at what some people are willing to live in, and it's not necessary an economic thing. I've seen pigsty homes in dirt poor, and from the ultra rich. Somewhat like a car, the exterior condition of a house tells me a lot about personal life style and can anticipate on the interior condition.

Normally it says that she can drive.
