What would you like to tell a woman about dressing?

When a woman is dressed immodestly, what should a woman know? We know a man is visually attracted. I don't know how to phrase this. LOL I wish we could jump in on your mens only forum!!! LOL You've had 2 interesting topics on dress. I haven't read but maybe 10% of it but I thought since it's an issue that maybe you could make recommendations here and explain to the women. Educate us so that we'll dress better. How do you want us to dress?

Once, on a another public forum where I was trying to witness an old guy wrote me and asked me what I was wearing when I wrote to him. And I said, "A hideous frock!" He said I was doing just fine.

I borrowed this from another post from some guy, his answer is hilarious!

quote:

Tight cloths obviously too small and looks like she shoveled herself in with a shoe horn.

What's wrong with this? If she took the effort to shovel herself in? This answer brings tears to my eyes!!!

I think way too much emphasis is placed on women being "dressed wrong" so that men are tempted... blah, blah, blah.

Dress like a woman - nice dress or skirt and a sweater - colorful, some sparkle, soft textures. Slacks look good too, black, navy, pink. Good fitting jeans (not baggie bottom style) are also nice. Save the khaki and polo combination for the golf course - I don't care to see you dressed the way I dress for business casual.

I'm not saying wear skin tights, or short shorts, or miniscule mini's.

Also, I cannot stand it when women wear a shirts and jeans combo that shows far too much of the lower back and belly. It is not a sexual thing, it just looks so sloppy, like not much care or pride is put into appearance.

That it has a very un-spiritual (or perhaps the WRONG spiritual) effect on us men. i.e. it tends to incite lust. But I think you knew that.

Itis my understanding you can read as much as you want, just not post back. That would include the personal forum as well. I do see women's names in there from time to time.

every man is different and what revs each libido will vary as well. Some like breasts, others back sides or legs or even feet.

Any thing that shows off too much skin (and how much is too much varies as well - use good judgement) will get us going. If we can see cleavage (north or south) that is not good. If we can see any part of undergarments it is not good. That includes seeing contrasting colors showing thru outer garments.

I know many women say that it is just the guys' problem so they don't worry about it. IT is not their problem if some guy lusts after them. Some guys say it is just the women's fault so they can gawk as much as they want and it is not their fault. Neither is a scriptural attitude. We are both responsible for ourselves and for our brothers and sisters around us.

It is good you want to know this. If you are married and you have a good trusting (no jealousy) relationship with your husband, go to some public place where some of our scantily clad young women hang out and have him describe what he sees and what kind of reaction he and his buds have.

Be prepared to be shocked. (if he is truly honest)

I really appreciate your honesty! Once I worked with a pretty, busty young woman who wanted to pose for those motor cycle magazines. Your response is exactly what I said to her, "You WANT men to lust after you?"

My husband, who is a pastor, told me that there isn't anything wrong with looking good. He got me wearing 'tight' jeans. Bought me my first pair on our honeymoon. He's boughten me some pretty sexy clothes. One outfit, his favorite, I'm so self conscious wearing it because the skirt is above my knee. Once I wore it here in Mexico and I heard that someone said, "I can't believe she wore that!" Comment by a Mexican woman. My leader said, "It didn't bother me." The pastor's daughter said, "Whatever my husband says, is appropriate for me, according to her father." Because I asked.

Well, everyone knows that "modest is hottest" so, for heaven's sake, don't wear frumpy clothes or you'll have every fellow at church following you around, and stumbling.

If my preferences were speaking for all men I would have to say that most women have no idea what a man finds attractive but they think they do.

In dressing up my dream woman in the way she dresses and carries herself would be Emmylou Harris

But I like everyday stuff too like jeans and all, just like those extra touches like something holding her hair back. The ultimate for me in the jeans area is her in jeans, nice top with a hair band that matches her belt made of a scarf of the same material

See most women as a work of art and like a nice frame around the masterpiece

You know those hazardous material suits. The kind someone wears to transfer nuclear waste or dangerous chemicals, with the large see-through top. It would probably be good if most women wear those.....

just kidding.

I've never seen an outfit that would look good on all women, or all men, for that matter...so I would say dress in a way that expresses your individuality, honors God, honors yourself and your husband, and to heck with what anyone else thinks.

True beauty comes from within and starts with honoring God.

THat is why I suggest that any woman who has that question should find a guy she trusts to be truthful and go somewhere where there a lot of women dressed in various ways (like a mall) and sit down and watch them, asking how does that outfit affect you, or that one or the other one?

Only then will she start to see what affects guys in certain ways and what does not.
