I have a question I'd like us to participate in.
Has this website with it's forum community and other resources helped or hurt your relationship to God? further...has fellowship and study aids here produced possitive results in your life? I'd like to hear some testimony whether its good, bad or indifferent.

Why do you want to know?
You're relatively new here ... so welcome to the Forum. I hope you find a lot here to teach, entertain and amuse you.
This Forum has many learned and intelligent members from whom we can learn a lot. It also has many frivolous and very funny ones.
Some of the threads and discussions are really great.
A microcosm of society one would say.
See ... I can use clever words like "society".

I use the reference tools a lot because they are quick and easy. I am sometimes disappointed they are not more in depth so have to search further for the information I wanted, but I am still very glad they are available.
As for the forum itself, it's a mixed bag...some advice is good, some is not, and some is totally unbiblical and dangerous I believe. I pray everyone leans on the Holy Spirit for guidance regardless of what is read here.

The forums have helped me think through others' opinions and to make sure I know why I think the way I do. I have gone to the Word for clarification and spent a lot of time praying over issues that I'm involved in discussing.

The forums have helped me a LOT.... when I was starting out, it helped me to have people who I felt really cared about me - in the PFY thread especially. I've had an on off relationship but yes, it has encouraged me.
Now I hang out in General faith because I feel I want to give a little back.

In general, I find theological discussion online is not all that beneficial... not just because of poor debate technique, but also because you run into some real wacky doctrines.
I don't really look at Salemwebs Forums as a means to help or hinder my relationship with God as much as it is to sharpen my mind and get some interaction with other people.
