Does anyone believe that God has a plan for everyone, and that maybe for some people in that plan they are s'possed to be alone? That they shouldn 't have gotten married? because they wanted the fairy tale ending instead of what God had planned? Reason I am asking is I think I jumped the gun on Gods plan, and i'm really unhappy now. Just wondering, thanks everyone.

If you are married now, then God's word, His desire for you, is very clear. I heard a pastor's wife put it quite elegantly once. "People ask me if I think there is one person that is meant for you. Well, once you are married, that IS the one person."

God is remarkably good at sorting our messes out. Sometimes it takes time and courage. Can you talk with your pastor or another mature Christian?

God has a plan for all of us to accept his Son as our Lord and Personal Saviour (Saved) He also has a plan for all those who does not accept his as well. He will use whomever He has to to do His Will. It is up to us to seek's God's Will or so as you call it His Plan. We often get impatient and want to jump out on our own. Prayer and daily communication with him is the key...If you feel you jumped out of God's plan...chances are you probably have...

God definitely plans for some people to be alone. Some people are content with it, some not.

(You made it sound like you are...) Don't question it. Cling to Jesus and ask him to show you what good will come of your hard times. All marriages go through unhappy times but commitment and true love will bring them through.

Hmm, could you be a bit more specific? Does this involve you personally? If it's too private, it's ok. Just seeing if more details would better help answer the q. In general, though, I think God does give us free will to choose a partner in life rather than having that "perfect" person for us. We are free to like whomever we desire (so long as they are Christians). I think in some cases, God gives us a calling that takes away our desire for a mate, like with Paul (formerly Saul). He literally says that his celibacy was a gift from God, in order that he may complete his mission to evangelize the lost. It's mentioned that Paul lost all desire for that part of his life (a mate) and was able to do what God had wanted of him. In most cases, I don't think this is true. I've only known ONE Christian woman who said she felt this was her calling in life. Most people do have desires for a partner. But after that, God gives us freedom to choose who we may desire. Now in the case that we do not get along with that person later on (if that was part of your question), I've heard a Bible study leader talk about failed marriages where couples no longer loved each other....He said wives and husbands literally wre not even sexually attracted to their mates anymore etc. In those cases, through a fundamental commitment to God, these couples who remained faithful and prayed over and worked on their relationships...well....something AMAZING happened. He said that they slowly, but surely began to see their spouses in a different light. As their spouse grew closer and closer to Christ (as well as themselves), they began to see a beauty in their spouse that was not there before. And over time, these husbands and wives slowly began to love and desire their "new" spouses as they became more like Christ. Essentially, God MADE the spouse into someone desirable for each other. So I think even in a situatio nwhere there seems to be no hope, God can change a marriage relationship around through faith and obedience to His will. What is more beautiful than a person who mirrors the image and heart of the Lord? -Imit

If so...then it was not God's plan for you to be single..If it was His desire for you to be single...then you would have no thoughts, no desire for a mate...Perhaps the person is not the right person for you or you not the right person for them?

God definately has a plan for each one of us. His thoughts towards us are of good and not of evil;to give us an expected end. He knows the end from the beginning. Use this time of unsettling as a time of drawing closer to God. You'll be suprised at how interested He is in what you're feeling. He knows your heart . and who knows, He may wind up changing you and not the situation....are you ready for that?

I do believe very much that GOD has a plan for everyone. I was single for nearly 13 years after my divorce (*spouse adultery) and believed in my heart ALL things happen for a reason even though the very core of my being was hurt and betrayed by a man I truly did love. I am now married after 13 years of being single with a 10 year old step son and I assure you at times it's not always perfect, marriage is work, hard work. In today's society it's all too easy to say "I give up" and get divorced.... Unless you are in an adultress situation I do believe you are married until death do you part. Stop searching for the plan and let GOD guide you. HAVE FAITH and know that GOD will always do what is best for you and your life. PRAY for your marriage and wait to hear God's reply. Quote from Phyllis Diller "Do you know how to make God laugh?" - Tell him your plans.........

Yes, I believe He does based on what the Bible says. I also believe we can miss out on what God desires for us because we make foolish choices without obeying His Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

If you are asking re: God's plan so that you can rationalize your way out of something, DON'T! His plans are NOT about your getting out of a marriage that doesn't feel so good right now. His plans are for YOU to BE the right person for your spouse. No excuses. No rationalizations. No trying to figure a way out. According to God, you're IN a marital relationship for a lifetime.
