Integrating technology just for the sake of it is, IMO, misguided. That makes technology a crutch, not a tool. First, identify a need or problem and then determine what best solves that problem. If it's a technological solution, then so be it.

I an a Technology Specialist in a middle school and I have found lots of free and open source programs for our classrooms. I have lots of links to these programs on my school website. PM me if you would like a link to my site.

One example of this would be some jeopardy games I've made for reviewing for history exams. You can see on this page at my site paulrittman.com/history . Hit the link that says something like "Jeopardy games" and you can see a list of these games--they are made from powerpoint templates and keep adults in college history classes scrambling in their notes/text for answers before the other side gets to answer the question. Obviously something like this can be done with any subject.
