Dear Father,

Please bless mom's human heart and her spiritual heart today. Father, mom has fought 'life' all her life.

That is the only way I can describe it.

She is always discontent and rushes to tell me everything that ever went wrong in her life every time I see her.

It is as tho she does not realize things go both 'right and wrong' in everyone's life.

Gracious!

Life is a mixture and it is our attitude that makes it or breaks it.

Father, I would love to see her joyful and content for the last moments of her life, whether it be literally moments or years. Please help, dear Lord. As I look back, all I see is one discontent lady, teaching me to complain, be demanding, and expect someone to always do whatever she demands.

But I chose a different path, and followed my dad's way of love, kindness, peace, and generosity. Thank God for Dad....He just always seemed so happy....

Lord, I truly ask you to help mom embrace this way of love and contentment for the little time she has left, even if it is a decade.

Thank you Lord.

Father some days I don't know what words to say , it seems I have said them all . But I do know You are faithful and hear our prayers and cries . You know what we have need of before we even ask . Your Word says seek ye firat the Kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you ... and I beleive You when you said " Ask and it shall be given you , seek andye shall find , knock and it shall be opened unto you . For everyone that asketh receiveth , and he that seeketh , findeth , and to him that knocketh , it shall be opened . " I claim your promise and stand on Your Word Lord that all these prayers offered up for this lady will be answered and she will be a new creation through Chrsit Jesus . The mom prayer warrior has waited her entire life to see and know in a more loving and compassionate relationship with her loved ones .

I didn't read through all of this but I think I get the idea about your Mom's emotional and/or spiritual state. Is she better now physically from the accident? I've been going through a trying time with my own Mom especially through this illness with my father over the last few months. But God is working it out, even using it to draw us closer sometimes. (Yesterday was awful though!) May he do so for both of us increasingly, to His glory and our good. The thing to remember is that we are lucky to have them. And I do love my Mom and I know you love yours. When need be and when it's possible you might want to back off though (not ignoring a real need of course) because you don't want to be an enabler if she is constantly demanding your attention. Point her to God. Maybe you could call her and ask for prayer for yourself with things that go wrong in your life too from time to time, and for your kids, to assure her she is needed in your world. Christian radio might help too to keep her company and assure her you love her and are praying for her. If you keep pointing her to Jesus as the source maybe she will get the idea of God as her source. But I'll pray for you and your Mom, for sure. Please do so for mine too, though the situation is not exactly the same. I'd tell you more about mine but it's your thread and right now I'm trying to stay positive. Some other time maybe when I need encouragement too. But as a friend told me this morning, the enemy tries to get in at any turn he can to discourage us. Again though, it's God we need to focus on as our source, which I know you do and have been a faithful daughter. God will help you.

I'm really tired and need to go to sleep soon so I hope this all made sense.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for lifting all of this up.

Your ideas and prayers are beautiful.

Lord, so many dear prayers.

I have tried so many things. Christian radio (with a scottish minister since my mom is English); a huge print Bible (she told me to take back to the store), teeny little books on the beattitudes or a prayer journal (always given with praise at what a great prayer she is, etc...)

In fact, the Lord has made me a peach of love around her, and wow, I guess it helps me, but mom JUST DOES NOT change.

Holy Cow.....how can anyone be so teflon-coated?????

If it were my kids, I would melt into a puddle of butter in joy!

Good grief.

I praise you Jesus for people who continue to pray with me. Praise you, and please BLESS THEM!!!!!

Thank you my friend.

Well, mom cancelled everything but the haircut.

I cut and blew dry her hair, curled it, and it looks just great.

She was too sore to go shopping or out to eat.

Then she said she really wished she could go, and that sometime we would have to go to a new little restaurant in her town.

I just smiled and said, "Sure, maybe next time you'll be feeling good enough to go,."

It didn't rip my heart out to be turned down once again, so I know the Lord protected my heart.
