Thank you Dagmar, it was short but very sweet. I always take her presents. Usually dark chocolate mocha, maybe some home-made food, this time included wonderful Amish-made bread and butter pickles and vidalia onion/tomato salsa to eat with ham and eggs. It was tougher than usual because she looked straight at me, and beamed with love, and said it is so good to see you Candy. (that is my sister in law's name) It is a heart-rendering moment when your own mom doesn't know your name. I just said, "I'm Nancy, mom" and she said, "Of course!" Boy, becoming elderly is sure tough. I pray for mom and bob's dad and all the elderly in our country. I wish mom could be with us, but I definitely can't take care of two and transport to dr. visits and stuff. It just can't happen. Sigh. Father, please bless mom this week and weekend. Thank you so much for a mom who has loved me. She still calls me her 'baby' at times. I always laugh and tell her I am a pretty old baby. And then I give her a huge hug. I wish for just one more vibrant time out at 'mom and dad's ' with all the family together and a giant autumn weiner roast there. I am sure heaven will let me re-visit those times once agian..... Father, please bless mom with joyful memories tonight. Thank you that she has kids who love her nearby. <><
