Thank you for your prayers, I've been so busy w/ hosting an ex-con friend for his 1st Christmas out in years that I haven't had chance for an update.

I have received confirmation from my liver specialist that I do have cirroshis, hey I beat a diabetes and a cancer scare lately so all news isn't bad.

I am having difficulty as I have medicaire (which I pay for) drug coverage and there has been a change in policy in getting certain meds, as a matter of fact many policies are changing as of Jan 1.

I need to get approval for weekly self injects of PROCRIT to lay down an anti-anemia foundation for a month, before I begin daily self injects of inteferon.

Please pray for expedition of this drug order before it gets caught in the 08' policy changes.

Will update this later..and trusting in the Great Physician for healing in 08'

It is below freezing and this morning's wind-chill factor makes it = to below zero..but I made a committment to take part in a medical study of fatty liver @ ST. LUKE'S Hospital in Manhattan.[sm=icon_smile_cold.gif]

I've been part of studies before as long as it's not taking any experimental meds or dangerous. But as I want to see cures/& or better treatments,I almost feel obligated.

This study is being done by one of my liver specialists, who is internationally known and published.

Only thing is though I'll have to undergo an MRI & you know how cold those rooms always are....but off I go in a few hours for a 9 am appointment.

Thanks for all those prayers both posted and encouraging pms sent during 07'..looking forward to praise reports in 08'!

Thanks, the study was for all liver patients; they are experimenting on a new, shorter & hopefully more efficent way to examine the liver via an MRI;MRIs are magnetic so there's generally no danger. They are experimening w/ a new way to position the patient and it looks like a newer piece of equipment put over the liver area to be scanned.It was shorter & didn't involve all of that breathing in & out, holding deep breaths, etc, and more comfortable.

But none the less , I'm always glad to participate in studies that may advance liver treatment (& in other areas) wen I can & w/ safety in mind.

Thanks for the prayers, today I have to take a stress/echocardiogram as a baseline before I do the daily liver treatment self-injections.

Looking to pass this heart exam as I did last year.

The Greatest Physician will look over me as I am at the hospital testing today![sm=icon_smile_fish.gif]

Father, Rick is awesome! Thank you for sending him into our lives. I know you are proud of your boy <3

Be with him today as he goes through all this testing. When his body is tired, renew his strength. When his thoughts are stressed or his perseverance is tested, refresh him. As always, let him sense how very near you are to him today. Let him know how much he pleases you. Let him shine for your glory in the quiet moments and with every word that you give him to say to the people in his life.

Help Rick to be forgiving to anyone that is unkind to him for any reason. Help him to be forgiving to himself if there is anything that weighs on his conscience. We all have that baggage or those weak moments in our walk that get up in our face and try to bring condemnation. But you have made us new people and you continue to help us to be more like you daily. Guard Rick's peace. Expose and unravel any attempt of the enemy that might try to discourage him. Remind him of the Truth, your Truth God, of what an amazing and powerful man of God he is.

Thank you Lord.
Bless the sacrifice that Rick has offered. That sacrifice of praising you in word and in deed. As well as the sacrifice of enduring these tests to help others who may come under attack from similar sickness and disease. Give the doctors wisdom and give them knowledge to find ways to help Rick and so many others.

Thanks again for the prayers, today will be at St.Luke's for a 10:am endoscopy & then 2 hours or so in recovery.It's just 1 of those pre-treatment tests to see if there are any enlarged veins in my liver-if so there are ways to rectify that.

I appreciate that a close friend was going to come all the way from NJ to be w/ me & sign me out..they don't let you go w/ out a signee; but after speaking yesterday w/ a pastor friend he came up w/ a staffer from a Brooklyn Tabernacle sister church that is only a block & a half away & will come & spring me as opposed to my friend travelling from NJ.

Lord, thanks for sending this person to be your hands and feet, to help get Rick home from the hospital. Let it be a pleasant encounter, not awkward as it can be sometimes when meeting someone for the first time. Bless them with a warm relationship and let all go smoothly.

And Father, I ask that you cause other such encounters, or that you move someone that Rick knows and trusts to be near him, so that he will have help in the future with similar situations. Cause friends/family to be in town or to be traveling through town at key times, so that they can stop and check in with Rick, to encourage him and to help him with any needs -- and so that Rick can speak good things into their lives as well.

Provide ALL that Rick needs (and some extra icing-on-the-cake blessings) as he walks through these tests and his recovery. Continue to heal him and to renew his strength daily. Thank you Father, in the name of Jesus we ask. Amen

Hey Rick, thinking of you. Thanks for keeping us updated with how things are going.
And be sure to think warm thoughts in those cold exam rooms. That's one of the worst parts :o)

Father, bless Rick today. Meet the big needs and the obvious needs and the urgent needs, but also meet the needs that he didn't even feel worthy to mention. Surprise him Lord. Just let him have a week full of being awed by you Lord.

And give him the words to testify of your goodness, so that the lost would be drawn to you Jesus by the working of your Spirit. Please continue to open doors for Rick, and continue to guide him to walk in boldness and gentleness with a humble heart. Let Rick praise you with a renew passion, you have done so much in the life of this man of God, overflow the blessing again today I ask. In the name of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, we give You thanks because we know that You are healing Rick this very moment, this very second and that Victory shall be his in Your name. Lord, we ask that You lay your hands on Rick's illness, body, mind and emotions right now, that You uplift his spirit, that You renew His soul so that he may continue to be a testimony to Your love, mercy and grace!

Rick, remember that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH JESUS .... that He makes possible that which is impossible to us mere humans. Remember we are His Ambassadors and see yourself healed and rejuvenated in His Name!

Will miss Giants Parade today taking a Colonoscopy at St. Luke's in Manhattan (part of tests leading up to liver treatment).

Recent tests & bloodwork good..will keep you posted.

Will be knocked out at around 11am & a brother from Manhattan Grace Tabernacle (a neighboring church that used to vol. at my shelter) will sign me out in the afternoon.
