She shouldn't be a minister anyway, but that's another debate.

More schools offer gay studies classes By LISA LEFF, Associated Press Writer Fri Sep 7, 2:43 PM ET SAN FRANCISCO - Before he transferred to San Francisco State University, Emo Loredo knew only a few other openly gay students. ADVERTISEMENT So he was pleasantly surprised when he discovered his new college offered not only dozens of classes on gay issues, but an undergraduate minor in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender studies. "One of the things I've learned is that homosexuality was around way back in ancient times," said Loredo, 24, who enrolled this semester in a sociology class called Queer Cultures and Society. "Before, I thought homosexuality was started in the early 1970s." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070907/ap_on_re_us/gay_studies Just shows how ignorant or sheltered this student was-homosexuality began in the 70s.........come on kid how did you pass any test to get into college? But, of course the leftist professors love to teach and fill young minds w/ trash from the left.

Transgender pastor's new test of faith A United Methodist council's decision on whether to accept him could have political implications too. By Stephanie Simon, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer September 9, 2007 BALTIMORE — The Rev. Ann Gordon stood in front of her United Methodist congregation last fall and announced that she was now he. Surgery and testosterone had transformed Ann into the Rev. Drew Phoenix -- still as liberal and laid-back as always, but now legally male. Most in the small congregation accepted their pastor's transition; they even threw him a renaming party, complete with birthday cake. But when Phoenix, 48, was reappointed to another year of ministry this spring by his bishop, it sparked a protest in the United Methodist Church. The only thing that I can agree w/ is that he/she/it does look like a man.... http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-transgender9sep09,0,2118281.story?coll=la-home-center

This doesn't have a whole lot to do with homosexuality, per se, but it does have to do with gay bashing. And I thought it was a fun story: quote:
CAMBRIDGE — Two students at Central Kings Rural High School fought back against bullying recently, unleashing a sea of pink after a new student was harassed and threatened when he showed up wearing a pink shirt. The Grade 9 student arrived for the first day of school last Wednesday and was set upon by a group of six to 10 older students who mocked him, called him a homosexual for wearing pink and threatened to beat him up. The next day, Grade 12 students David Shepherd and Travis Price decided something had to be done about bullying. "It’s my last year. I’ve stood around too long and I wanted to do something," said David. They used the Internet to encourage people to wear pink and bought 75 pink tank tops for male students to wear. They handed out the shirts in the lobby before class last Friday — even the bullied student had one. [SNIP] "The bullies got angry," said Travis. "One guy was throwing chairs (in the cafeteria). We’re glad we got the response we wanted." David said one of the bullies angrily asked him whether he knew pink on a male was a symbol of homosexuality. He told the bully that didn’t matter to him and shouldn’t to anyone. http://www.thechronicleherald.ca/Front/858884.html

ORIGINAL: brooklynsblessed1 Gen. Pace: Homosexuality is Immoral The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Monday he considers homosexuality to be immoral and the military should not condone it by allowing gay soldiers to serve openly, the Chicago Tribune reported. Marine Gen. Peter Pace likened homosexuality to adultery, which he said was also immoral, the newspaper reported on its Web site. "I do not believe the United States is well served by a policy that says it is OK to be immoral in any way," Pace told the newspaper in a wide-ranging interview. Pace, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a 1967 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, said he based his views on his upbringing. I wonder if he was raised Jewish if "his morality" would dictate that he ban eating pork in the military? Eating pork is immoral to Jewish people after all. Good for Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who in a hearing on Capitol Hill today reiterated this statement again. Despite taking flack last time, w/ out benefit of a flack jacket he is bravely sticking to his guns. Unlike the dems & their allies who pander to the gay lobby, day after day & even in tonight's debate.

ORIGINAL: MyCatSmokey2006 Brady Bunch Actress Supposely Reveals Lesbian Affair In New Book! I found this information on another forum. Maureen McCormick is said to have written a new book in which she supposely had an "lesbian affair" with Eve Plumb, the actress who played her sister Jan on the television series "Brady Bunch". There are 232,000 Google matches with link to sites that mention the words "Maureen McCormick" and Lesbian". Here is one of them. (Note: I've not checked this link for content. I hope it's okay. If not, I apologize. I had trouble with my browser when I tried to click on it.) This makes me sick! Those "innocent" Brady girls growing up to do such disgusting things! How sad. Scotty, beam me up, there's no intelligent life down here anymore. Oh wait, he's dead. Pity. Edited to update information and add link. quote:

Why did we ever give cigarettes and small bundles of wood such a bad name?

Don't they know that even big tough hockey players wear pink or purple shirts? Good for the kids who stood up to the bullies. People have accused my younger brother of being gay because he likes pink shirts, it's just so stupid and immature.

Those gender-bender dress up days have been going on for years and are entirely innocent. There's no hidden agenda.

I went to a Christian grade school (Lutheran Missouri Synod affiliated) and every year before our final Basketball tournament we would have themed dress up week (with one theme for each day). One of the themes was always "dress like the opposite gender." It has nothing to do with any gay agenda.

ORIGINAL: brooklynsblessed1 I never attended a school like that nor would I have allowed my kid to be in such an enviornment. I think it's more a sign of the times that it has become so politically charged. I was in grade school in the 1980s and no one thought twice about "cross dressing" day back then. People just saw it as harmless fun and not something that was political or "gay" in anyway. I don't think anyone ever raised it as an issue or even thought of raising it as an issue (and the school I went to actually banned Halloween celebrations. We would have "fall celebration" day instead just because they thought Halloween wasn't Christian -so it's not like it was a liberal school or anything). I actually imagine that schools do it far less now days just because gender issues like that are more out in the open so I'm not sure if schools would be as open to doing it since it is such a heated political issue now.

Parents can dress as they like. Are you a parent^^^ ?????? It's not an issue like cross dressing and an Obama type gay teaching agenda that tikes and young students should EVER be exposed to.In NJ when my kid wasin school my family, neighbors & I'm sure others would of called on the council to suspend or take other actions for anything that smelled like a hidden agenda. The CROSS DRESSING MRS CLAUS which would of been a gay militant message to the world via the 100s of 1000s of spectators in NYC and millions in the world via the annual broadcast...was heavily protested w/ threat of a Macy*s boycott & NY radio blasting it that Macy*s had to cancel Harvey Fierstien's ploy....even some saner gays & lesbians were against it here in NYC.
