It was an awesome concert! Each group had about 45 minutes, and they both did a great job. I like the Kingsmen's sound with Tony and Jeremy Peace. They did a lot of songs off of the new CD and also some classic Kingsmen songs like "Love Will Roll the Clouds Away" and "Old Ship of Zion". Gold City was awesome as always! I saw them right after Aaron McCune had joined them and they were very good then, but they seemed to be even better at Silver Dollar City. The highlight of the concert (at least for me) was the four KingsGold songs at the end of the concert. They sang "Everybody Will Happy", "Winging My Way Back Home", "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" (feauturing Jason Selph), and "Looking For A City". Jim Hamill was not able to be there, but they still did a great job together. Both groups had a lot of energy on stage and really seemed to be having fun singing together!

What do you think Gold City will do to help keep fresh yet retain their fans?

The new CD does both - it has some more progressive material, some country flavor a great mix over all, yet it keeps the standard that their 'older' fans love!

ORIGINAL: danielmount I'm not yet convinced that their fans want them to keep fresh. VERY accurate observation Dan. I'd like to see a little more of their old sound on their next album - even though their new one is very enjoyable.

Although this was the first year I can remember that Gold City got completely shut out at the Singing News Fan Awards, I don't look for that to be the case next year. Gold City is definitely back and they were the class of this year's NQC as far as I'm concerned. I love the new album and even my wife commented on how great it sounds and she's not near as big as SG fan as I am. Aaron McCune is definitely improving and sounded GREAT at NQC. I predict Gold City will be thick in the hunt at the SN Fan Awards next year. I love their new version of the old Hinson classic "Ain't That What It's All About." Daniel also did a good job on the Hillips, Craig & Dean song "Mercy Came Running." If this project is any indication of what we can expect from Gold City in the future, I am all for it.

That was supposed to be Phillips, Craig & Dean for those of you scratching your head and thinking: Who's Hillips, Craig & Dean, tried to edit the post but I couldn't, sorry about the typo.

I just wanted to chime in here and put in a plug for the new Gold City CD, Revival. I just got mine in the mail last week and cannot stop playing it. These guys sound great and their sound is fresh. There is a good variety on this CD, as is usual for them. They can sing the ballads and the toe-tapping songs with the best of them. Get this CD!!! You are in for a treat! In spite of the their tragic loss earlier this year, they are BACK in top form. I pray that God will bless them as they continue to bless others with their music! (TIM MUST BE VERY PROUD OF THESE GUYS...)

Personally, I have thoroughly enjoyed all of their music, but this CD is definitely one of their best projects to date! Wait until you hear Jonathan on "I'm Rich." I can just see his red face and his dancing across the stage as he really puts himself into this rendition of the song. I love all ten songs, but the two power ballads, "Truth is Marching On" and "Preach the Word" are the highlights. Daniel just continues to impress on the former, and Steve does a GREAT job on the latter. Powerful messages in both of these selections as well. The upbeat songs are wonderful. My favorite is "Look Who Just Checked In." Jonathan is definitely "in his element" on this one. The new bass singer does a great job on his first Gold City project as well. To me, this group is as good or better than any of their previous lineups. Of course I still miss, Tim, Jay and Mark, but I have to say, they are better than ever! I look forward to great things from these great guys in the future!
