I am praising God and thanking him for His people. Yesterday I went with my church to do our monthly service at a nursing home. During the service I noticed a former pastor walking by, so I slipped out to talk to him and was able to share with him what God is teaching me about forgiveness. I went back inside the room where we were holding the service and another Christian friend and her husband walked by, and ran out and talked to her for awhile and shared my story with her as well. The same pastor came back by and it turns out they had known each other for years and both knew who each other was there to visit!
After the service I introduced my pastor to all of them, he no sooner left the building and I made my apologies for continuing to interupt my friend's visit, my aunt and uncle walked into the nursing home!! I felt so blessed by God that He brought all of these Christians in my life to hug me and love on me! See my divorce care thread.

Another praise is that my daughter returned safely from an Anime convention and while there met one of the voice actors who has won awards for his acting. He is an outspoken Christian, at his question and answer time, she asked him to sing Amazing Grace He did and she taped it. It is so cool! Then he went out to dinner with her and all her friends who had gone to the convention with her. She called me so he could tell me hello. What a nice guy.

I am about 2 months into post breakup. Was on another site where we were both fairly well known.

So have had alot of friends contact with the usual, how are you doing, sorry to hear. Many assume I'm crushed or hurting. While I wasn't dancing a jig, I am thankful that what happened did, as we were planning on being married.

Every time I get an email, I think well this will be the last one. Yet again, another one, telling me about his supposedly very public and very fast "new" relationship. It doesn't make it any easier to move on and put it past. If I wanted to know what he was doing, I would have kept contact, this was one of those that required the "clean" break.

Sunday evening, I got the worst one yet. She told me who it was (like I would ask...haha) and sure enough it's someone who'd befriended me before and been in contact with him all the time we were together. Obviously much more his friend than mine.

Monday morning, I thought wow I'm sick of this. I went to check on Max Lucado's devotional and it was meant for me to read. I prayed for both of them that they would be happy together, and for strength to wish them the best in my heart. It was a complete change of attitude, and while I don't think it's wise to maintain contact with either, I hope they find happiness.

I was doing fine with the breakup, actually hadn't felt more "like myself" in awhile and it was so refreshing. It felt good to be ME again!! Then I'd get a phone call or an email and it was like I was being tugged back down into the quicksand, and telling them you don't want to talk about it...just dredges up things you want to leave behind.

People who know me know I'm not known for feeding the gossip train, so they got no good "dirt" from me. I can't help what someone else does, I just pray that I treated everyone with kindness and thanks for their concern and maybe encouraged them that next time someone they know breaks up they won't go on a "fishing expedition" for gossip fodder.

Thanks for letting me bend your ear!!

I thank God for macaroni and cheese.

And the fact that my children now LIKE it whereas they hated it before.

Makes the grocery budget breathe a little easier.

I'm thankful for a very good (but tired) day. We had evangelists in today Marcus and Loretta Kelly. He sings she preaches. Both do very well. Just wish I wasn't so tired so I could be more alert.

Thankful for the Girl and for my friends here.

Thankful for AnitaFla's post above which brought to mind two songs "I've got to be me" (somehow I see a penguin singing it) and the gossip song from Hee Haw

(We're not ones to go around spreading rumors
No really were just not the gossipy kind
Oh you'll never hear one of us repeating gossip
so you better be sure and listen close the first time)

OK so I'm punchy. I'm off to bed soon.

I'm thankful for the message in church yesterday. It's about the resurrection which I've been studying for the last few months. It's nice to see our church go back to the foundation of our faith instead of preach the Santa Claus Jesus who is this nice jolly old fellow who will meet all our needs/wants. I go in one of those mega churches that presents the "feel good" gospel in order to reach the seekers, but without preaching the true gospel, I think a lot of them leave not knowing who the true Jesus is.

I'm thankful that it's spring break! Yayyy! And my kid and I are just hanging out, and we're given an opportunity to go away for a few days! Woo hoo! I live for days like this!

I'm also thankful that my daughter is so incredibly unique! And I love her dearly!

I'm with you on this one Esther, Add a little veggies and you have dinner.
This is my fall back on meal way too often, because the kids never complain when I serve it.

I thank God for the opportunity to have a mini vacation with my daughter during spring break. We went on a mini trip in Minneapolis to get away. She had a blast at the waterslide, and Ikea, and we shopped at one of the outlet malls. We also went with my sister in law and her two kids so the company made my daughter a little less lonely. Being an only child, she seems to really enjoy our trips more when she spends some time with other children.

It was a nice break, being pampered, and not having to do any house work for a few days. I'm glad that God allowed us this time for rest and relaxation.
