I thank Him for Himself. Praise the Lord He is Wonderful, Awesome God, Alpha & Omega Majesty! 1 2 3 lets sing! Before the throne of God above I have a strong, a perfect plea: A great High Priest, whose name is Love, Who ever lives and pleads for me. My name is graven on his hands, My name is written on his heart; I know that while in heaven he stands No tongue can bid me thence depart No tongue can bid me thence depart. When Satan tempts me to despair, And tells me of the guilt within, Upward I look, and see him there Who made an end of all my sin. Because a sinless Savior died, My sinful soul is counted free; For God, the Just, is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me To look on Him and pardon me Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Praise the One, Risen Son of God! Behold him there, the risen Lamb My perfect, spotless righteousness, The great unchangeable I AM, The King of glory and of grace! One in himself, I cannot die My soul is purchased by his blood My life is hid with Christ on high, With Christ, my Savior and my God With Christ, my Savior and my God

I am so thankful for God's power. I knew I needed to forgive my ex husband, but I didn't want to. I told God I wanted to forgive him but couldn't, then I realized I had just lied to God. I asked Him to give me the want to. I knew that I could forgive him because God wanted me to, and because greater is He that is in me than he who is in the world. I have been blessed to be able to feel that forgiveness at work. I can talk to my ex-husband without that tone of hatred in my voice. He noticed it right away when I called to ask him if we could meet to talk. I apologized to him for not taking a godly approach when we were having serious trouble. Instead of taking one or two people with me to confront what I saw was his sin, I divorced him. That was wrong on my account. I seriously doubt we can ever be married again, but the true miracle is being able to talk to him without bitterness anger and hatred as my companions. It is so very freeing, I feel as if a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. God be praised!!

Actually everyone who knows Brenda-Lee knows that she does that all the time - so it's sort of a tribute to her - I can come NO WHERE near what she can do when she does it - but the sentiment is surely the same. It's awesome to hear.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls." 1 Peter 1:3-9

The other day in the chat thread Tina was saying something about a man who could dance, someone who could sweep you off of your feet. I've always thought it would be romantic to be serenaded. This morning during my devotions I read a Scripture a friend had written in a book she had given to me. It was Zephaniah 3:17. The LORD your God in Your midst, the Mighty One, will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Wow God Himself rejoicing over me with singing! How beautiful! Thank you, LORD!

Today, I thank God that He protected me all of these years from dating and bad relationships. I've just started to date after placing it before the Lord with a lot of prayer. I had always thought that I was missing out. But I wasn't - not really. And it has been interesting. I feel like I'm getting a crash course - and I also thank God for the opportunities that I've had to speak into the lives of a couple of people. But there is no way I could have gone through the rejection and other aspects of this process (or would have been able to withstand unwanted attention) had it not been for the fact that the Lord kept me, healed me, and prepared me. I'm thankful to be able to meet new people though. So I'm glad for where I am in life. I'm glad to be in my 30s and not married and to be exactly who, where, and what I am. God is so good, even if we don't appreciate Him at the time. rgod

I thank God for remaking me, even though it's been a long, slow, painful process as old ways of thinking had to be torn out by the roots and new ones cultivated. I thank God for letting me see some of the changes He's wrought, bringing alive hope again when it had been dead for so long. For helping me understand what's been going on, even if only a little. (And knowing that it's an ongoing process.) And I thank God for friends, both in real life and here on the Forum, who have been instrumental in showing me what He's been accomplishing in me. With their help it's finally starting to sink in! -Robb

This is one of those thank you's to God that came out unexpectedly. Tonight, my daughter was in my room reading Calvin and Hobbes and giggling hysterically. I was here on the singles forum and typing. Then out of nowhere, she said, mom, you look really pretty today. I was surprised, and almost embarrased. That was kinda nice hearing from an 11 year old daughter. Then she followed it with, you don't look like a fish anymore. WHaaaaaaaa? She said I used to be so skinny that my eyes look bigger than my face, like a fish. And I look happier. Wow, things that kids say. Ok, I don't have a man telling me I look pretty, but I have a kid who tells me that at least I don't look like a fish. Hey, she's sincere. I'll take it and be thankful, lol.

One time, she asked me if she can wear a bra to sleep so she doesn't sag. I told her that she doesnt' need one as I don't wear one. SHe said, mom, you don't need one, you're not big like me, LOL. SHe's only 11 years old! She keeps me laughing. I think she's one reason why I look so young!

I'm thankful that God's continuously changing me. It's amazing how much more peacefully and calmly I deal with problems the deeper my relationship with him grows.

I am very thankful about the message today. It was about being created in the image of God, and the preacher used only one verse. The one in Genesis 1:27 about how God created us in His own image, therefore everyone bears God's image. As mentioned before, our church is a seeker sensitive church and through out the years, I've heard so many self help type of preaching that dealt with self esteem and self image. With this one message, everything made sense. Of course, the preacher used all other arguments (from science and philosophy) out there about why we're special, then tear them all down, because the only credible argument we have for having intrinsic value is because God created us with that value. I was very blessed and for some reason I cried! Also, I'm very thankful for such a beautiful, sunny, warm day. Up here, we're freezing pretty much all year. But today was gorgeous and we had a chance to go for ice cream and stroll in the park. Perfect day.

i think i posted this on the smile thread awhile ago but that sermon topic reminds me of 'Everything Glorious' by DavidCrowder*Band You make everything glorious You make everything glorious You make everything glorious And I am Yours What does that make me? such a simple concept but makes an amazing difference if it can click in our heads anyways today i am thankful for the many relationships that God has allowed me to build with the teens in youth group ... it used to boggle my mind but i'm starting to understand why ... that this is leading them to feel comfortable coming to me with their problems ... i just pray i can be tuned in to God during this time ...
