I am thankful for this past week that I got to spend in my home town. Some family came out from Montana and my step brother & step sister came up from Detroit. I haven't seen my step brother and sister in about 10 years so that was extra fun to get to see them. It was a wonderful week!

I am thankful for hand-me down furniture that is better than my old stuff.
I am thankful for the highest compliment a parent can receive, esp. a single parent of an adult child. "He turned out to be fine young man." Yes, he is, even if I do say so myself. As hard as it was. Yes, he is.

Thank you, Lord, for one more day.
*A day to usher my kiddos to the bus.
*A day to sit at a desk, knowing that I am here for a reason.
*A day to look forward to that baseball game and cheer my son on.
*A day to ask my daughter how her speech at the luncheon for retired teachers went.
*A day, no matter how cloudy, to rejoice in Your beautiful creations.

I am very thankful for having been given an extra week of holidays. I thought I was only entitled to 3 weeks, but they gave me 4 weeks, which I really don't deserve. I've only been working at my position for 6.5 years, and it would be another year and a half before I qualify for 4 weeks of vacation. But I talked to them and clarified everything. It must be God's blessing to give me this extra week. The year and a half that I was missing, I was on a leave of absence, but somehow, they considered it as years of service because I didn't officially quit that time. This is just a wonderful blessing. More time I can spend with my daughter.
